…now a central issue in the Romney campaign.

This is sure to make the liberal tree hugger’s heads explode.

I’d keep hammering away at the failed green jobs initiatives that the SCOAMF has been pushing from day one. Easy pickings.

Romney to declare goal of North American energy independence by 2020
Steve Holland

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will lay out policies on Thursday aimed at achieving North American energy independence by 2020 by pursuing a sharp increase in production of oil and natural gas on federal lands and off the U.S. coast.

Romney is to unveil his plan at a truck and supply business in Hobbs, New Mexico, as he seeks to draw a sharp contrast between his energy policies and those of President Barack Obama and detail in part how he would rekindle job growth in the United States.

His emphasis on the economy amounts to an effort to return the campaign to the central issue Romney believes is most critical in the November 6 election and the key to a victory for him.The economic debate has to a certain extent been sidelined in recent days by controversial remarks about rape by a Senate Republican candidate in Missouri, Todd Akin, who Romney has denounced.

The Optics of Obama’s Failures

By Christopher Chantrill

People are starting to worry that President Obama might be wobbling on his visionary “all of the above” program to bring on the green energy millennium, what with $5.00 gas in the Northeast states.

But don’t worry. Even though the administration will be changing its “optics” on energy by featuring the president reading his TelePrompTer in front of oil wells, the president is still on course, according to an Obama official.

In the coming days and weeks, the official said, Obama will continue a constant drumbeat where he touts his strategy — including his push for green energy — while responding to false attacks on issues about his record on domestic energy production.

All of the above energy. The GOP response

This weekend, the chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, Doc Hastings (R-WA) provided the weekly Republican address to the nation. The topic, lest we forget about one of the most pressing issues of the day, is the real “all of the above” energy policy America needs. (Significantly different from what Barack Obama is delivering thus far.) Below is the video and transcript of the remarks. Not only should you listen, but we should make sure that both the President and the rest of Congress tunes in.

White House may put hold on offshore drilling plan

WASHINGTON, Jan 21 (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama may order a hold on a proposal issued in the final days of the Bush administration to expand offshore drilling in previously banned areas, an Interior Department official told Reuters on Wednesday.

Shortly after being sworn in on Tuesday, Obama ordered all federal agencies and departments to halt pending regulations until they can be reviewed by incoming staff.

An Interior official said the department is waiting for clarification from the White House on whether a proposed draft of a five-year plan to lease areas in the Atlantic and Pacific waters for oil and natural gas drilling can go forward.

Again the bitch just doesn’t get it. She doesn’t represent the people’s will. 73% of Americans want to drill now. 27% don’t. Hey it adds up to a 100%!

Get off your stupid politicking ass and allow the votes.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNN that she would block any vote to allow offshore drilling. This remarkable stance comes in the face of the latest poll that says 73 percent of Americans favor offshore drilling, while only 27 percent oppose it. Nancy Pelosi again displays her contempt for her employer, the American people. Her arrogance and wrong-headed philosophy have led Congress to an approval rating of a staggering 14 percent, the lowest ever.

The arguments she advances in defense of her position are, at best, silly, and at worst, devious. She says she will not allow additional reserves to be drilled because oil companies already hold leases on 68 million acres of federal land that are not being drilled. She ignores the testimony of oil company representatives who tell her that had they found oil under these lands, they would be pumping it. The oil companies need to drill where the oil is.

Drill Stupid

Are there any question as to why we should have been doing this the last 10 years?

Are there any questions why we should not start now?

Can anyone still think that America can become independant of foreign oil? It won’t happen. If it were announced tomorrow that we will drill of the continental shelf and ANWR, the price in oil would drop 30% from the speculation alone.

Add refineries to the mix and we have a bloody gold mine.

That and we could also endeavor to switch over to nuclear energy for our electricity needs. It is clean and doesn’t use much in the way of fossil fuels to produce. And we know how to do it safely!  Hell, I spent the weekend right next to a nuclear power plant and I actually survived with everything as it should be.

Wake the hell up dummycrats! Quit cock blocking the big boys.
