‘Guns across the Border’ tells inside story of Operation Wide Receiver CI

‘Guns across the Border’ tells inside story of Operation Wide Receiver CI“Operation Wide Receiver,” a precursor to “Operation Fast and Furious” wherein U.S. guns were bought by straw purchasers and “walked” under the noses of ATF investigators into Mexico, has been the subject of numerous Gun Rights Examiner reports. The central figure in those reports was Mike Detty, a gun writer, a firearms dealer, and the confidential informant who literally risked his life over the course of years to do what he believed was right, only to find the obvious criminals weren’t the only ones he couldn’t trust.

Detty has written about his role in a book that’s so new it doesn’t even officially release until next Wednesday. “Guns across the Border: How and Why the U.S. Government Smuggled Guns into Mexico” tells his story in an easy to read narrative that’s nonetheless engaging from the outset, and that held me throughout.

…power.
This time it’s the ATF. They can now seize guns without due process making it so that the defendant must prove their innocence, rather than the government having to prove guilt.

Step by step, inch by inch. The government keeps taking away our rights. More and more Americans think this shit is the norm and nothing is done about it.

It’s time to push back.

First, get rid of Obama and the Democrats in Congress.

Second, get rid of the RINOs in Congress.

Third institute term limits for Congress.

Fourth, force Congress to be subject to the laws they pass on us. That would stop a  lot of the BS they pass as legislation right there.

Fifth, enforce our borders, language and culture. Make English the official language. No official government paperwork in any other language. That would save millions alone.

Obama has expanded civil-forfeiture rules making it permissible for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to seize weapons from citizens without the hassle of due process.

This effectively gives Attorney General Eric Holder, of Fast and Furious fame, extended power over guns and gun-related property.

The rules were broadened under the guise of giving the ATF authority “to seize and administatively forfeit property involved in controlled substance abuses.” And if that doesn’t strike you as extreme on first glance, consider the fact that this expansion of civil-forfeiture allows the ATF to forego almost all “due process” in making their seizures — in effect, placing the burden of proof on the citizen instead of federal agents.

National Border Patrol Council, Which Represents All 17,000 Non-Supervisory Border Agents, Calls For Holder’s Resignation

Holder lied, Brian Terry died.

Council President George E. McCubbin III, a 25-year Border Patrol veteran, described Mr. Holder’s actions in the case as “a slap in the face to all Border Patrol agents who serve this country,” adding that the attorney general showed “an utter failure of leadership at the highest levels of government.”…

Mr. McCubbin said Border Patrol agents are indoctrinated from day one of their training that “integrity is their most important trait and that without it, they have little use to the agency.” He said agents who lie or show a lack of candor are disciplined quickly.

“The standard that applies to these agents should at a minimum be applied to those who lead them,” Mr. McCubbin said. “If Eric Holder were a Border Patrol agent and not the attorney general, he would have long ago been found unsuitable for government employment and terminated.”
