…for these federal agencies?
What are they preparing for?
Interesting times we live in. I’m not liking the sound of all these federal agencies stocking up on all this ammo.

Who are they preparing to fight? Americans? Terrorist? What gives?

Social Security Administration To Purchase 174 Thousand Rounds Of Hollow Point Bullets

Preparing for civil unrest? Ammunition to be delivered to 41 locations across U.S.
Paul Joseph Watson

First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.

A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.”

An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”

…ban as his next gambit in the war on guns.

Pay attention people. This shit isn’t going away. You have to continue to be vigilant in no uncertain terms and let your reps know now that this ammo ban is just another attempt at government CONTROL.

The people have not changed their stance on gun control in this country because of this latest shooting. Just remember, Aurora, Colorado was already a gun free zone. Gun free zones are where these types of mass shootings occur. It’s a fact.

Obama will ‘evaluate’ bill to ban online munition sales

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday that President Obama will “evaluate” a new bill that would ban online ammunition sales in the wake of the shooting massacre in Aurora, Colo. That left 12 dead and dozens more injured.

During the daily press briefing, Mr. Earnest was asked whether Mr. Obama supports the measure, which aims to end sales of unlimited amounts of ammunition on the Internet and other mail orders. The bill also would force ammunition dealers to report large sales of bullets and other munitions to law enforcement authorities

Well? Now you’ve done it Skippy.

Pathetic. This moron has no idea what the hell he’s doing. This is an absolutely stupid law that will have ZERO affect on crime. It has already been proven to be useless as a crime fighting tool. Idiots.

Governor Schwarzenegger/California Lawmakers Squander Limited Financial Resources on Firearm Owner Registration Scheme
Fairfax, Va. – Governor Schwarzenegger has signed a severe yet impotent gun control measure into law. Assembly Bill 962, taking effect on February 1, 2011, mandates individuals purchasing ammunition to be fingerprinted and registered at the time of sale and outlaws mail order ammunition purchases. AB 962 also requires dealers to maintain these records indefinitely and make them available for inspection by the California Department of Justice. As an additional burden, ammunition retailers are also required to store ammunition away from purchasers. AB 692 also failed to garner support from Attorney General Brown, and any law enforcement organization. In fact, 15 sheriffs wrote letters of opposition to this legislation.

“This law presents intrusive and unnecessary burdens that will only affect law-abiding firearm retailers and gun-owners…not criminals,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA chief lobbyist. “At a time when California is facing dire budget problems, California has squandered valuable resources in policing law-abiding Californians instead of investing in substantive measures that target criminals. More than two decades ago, Congress abolished similar requirements to U.S. federal law because ammunition sales records were found to be ineffective for solving crimes. It is indeed regrettable that foolish minds and bogus arguments prevailed over common sense and empirical evidence.”

Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed Senate Bill 585, a bill that would have prohibited the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco. He also signed Senate Bill 175, which will exempt gunsmiths from a vague California law. This exemption will now allow for the exchange of a firearm to or from a gunsmith for purposes of service or repair.

“Governor Schwarzenegger acted in the interest of good public policy with his actions to SB 585 and SB 175. But, in signing AB 962, he has paved the way for one of the most intrusive and ineffective gun control laws that California has seen in recent years,” said Cox.

The National Rifle Association will review all possible options to remove this draconian, requirement from California statute, and will assess legislative and legal remedies to do so.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group.  Four million members strong, NRA continues its mission to uphold Second Amendment rights and to advocate enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime.  The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the military.

Get off your asses and write this moron in Sacramento. Let him know that this is not what Californians need.

As previously reported, the California Assembly passed Assembly Bill 962 by a 44 to 31 vote.  AB962 now joins Senate Bill 585 on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) where they await his consideration.

AB962 requires individuals purchasing ammunition be fingerprinted and registered at the time of sale, mandates that dealers keep these records and make them available for inspection by the California Department of Justice.  Ammunition retailers would also have to store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers.  Finally, mail order ammunition sales are prohibited under AB962.  Over twenty years ago, Congress abolished similar requirements because ammunition sales records were found to be useless for solving crimes.  AB962 is a dire threat to our Second Amendment rights in the Golden State.

SB585 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco.  Simply put, SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California.

Please contact Governor Schwarzenegger TODAY and respectfully urge him to veto AB962 and SB585. The Governor can be reached by phone at 916-445-2841 or via fax at 916-558-3160. To email Governor Schwarzenegger, please visit

CALIFORNIA:  Two Dangerous Anti-Gun Bills Still Alive in Sacramento <>   The State Legislature will return from recess on Monday, August 17, and may soon take up two anti-gun bills, Assembly Bill 962 and Senate Bill 585.  AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database.  AB962 would also require fingerprinting for all sales, and ban on-line ammunition purchases.  SB585 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace, a stepping stone toward banning gun shows on all private property in California.  It is imperative that you stand-up and respectfully make your voices heard!  Please contact your State Senator and respectfully urge them to oppose AB962 and please contact your Assemblymember and ask that they vote to defeat SB585.  Contact information can be found here <> .

An African village’s armed self defense story
Eric Puryear

Earlier this year, self defense enabled a village in the war torn Congo to save itself against brutal rebels.

The Congo (an African county that borders Sudan), is in the midst of a long and bloody civil war. A powerful Ugandan rebel group, the Lord’s Resistance Army, is especially known for brutality and torture.  That rebel group goes from town to town, and often sends torture victims from a town they have already sacked to the next town as a grim warning.  The town of Bangadi received such a warning, including a man whose back had been sliced up with a machete, and warned that the rebels would soon arrive.  Upon hearing the news, the small police force fled the town, and neither the Congo military or the UN responded to the villagers pleas for help.  After two weeks of begging for help that was not forthcoming, the villagers realized they had to defend themselves:

Their community leader called a town meeting, and told everyone to bring whatever weapons they owned.  People showed up with rifles made before World War II, homemade shotguns, bows and poison arrows, knives, and even the wooden pestles that are used to pound yams into flour.  Using these weapons, the villagers drove off two attacks by the rebels, saving themselves from torture and death.  Perhaps best of all, not a single civilian was killed in the first repulsed attack.  Compare that with the hundreds of people who the rebels had killed in the previous weeks when they attacked other villages.  Hearing the news, hundreds of other villages have reportedly formed self defense groups.

Ammo Shortages…

Someone in the comments ask me for proof on the ammunition situation. I responded with, “I’ve seen it with my own eyes.” Now, here’s some proof on the statistical side.

In case you were wondering, the local Wally World doesn’t have squat for ammo.  They had some .270 rifle ammo and some .17 rimfire. Plenty of shotgun ammo, bird shot mostly, but nothing else.

The ammo boom is no dud

As gun shoppers are discovering, it’s becoming easier to buy a gun than ammunition

As a growing number of gun shoppers are discovering these days, it’s becoming easier to buy a gun than it is to purchase the ammunition for it. Shortages of popular handgun calibers in particular have dealers and customers fuming, and ammo makers have shifted their production lines into overdrive to keep up with the demand. How long will the “bullet bubble” last? That depends in large part on politics in Washington and in statehouses across the land, and the messages that various legislative efforts convey.

A spike in searches for the term ‘ammo’ reflects an increased public interest since late 2008.

Concerns over what the election of Barack Obama portends for gun owners is the main cause for the inflated demand for ammunition. In fact, since last November’s election ammunition has been flying off store shelves faster than you can say “microstamping,” with sales increases topping 100 percent in many areas. Gun sales ramped up by 42 percent last November, but have cooled off slightly since. From Election Day to now, the monthly sales average for firearms has been about 29 percent higher than normal. February sales tailed off a bit, to slightly more than 23 percent over average, according to sales figures compiled by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

Ted Novin, the NSSF’s director of public affairs, says that the next report on ammunition sales won’t be in until May, but there’s enough anecdotal evidence to suggest more boom times for the gun crowd – literally and figuratively.
