MSM is Lying: Conservatives Are the Mainstream

By Lloyd Marcus

During his sabbatical, a university professor wishes to come to Florida to interview me for a study he is doing on black Tea Partiers. He said he wants to find out why “you think the way you think.” Why do I get the feeling this guy believes that black conservatives are a strange phenomenon, almost unique as discovering a Bigfoot? This professor is flying all the way to Florida to actually meet me, an extremely rare species — a Blackus Conservativus.

As believers in traditional values such as faith in God, family, and country, conservatives are viciously attacked by the mainstream media, which function as enforcers, punishing all who dare challenge the left’s socialist/progressive agenda. The MSM portrays conservatives as nutcase extremists; take Col. Allen West, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Ted Cruz to name a few.

Liberals decry as “kooky” those of us who believe that the institution of marriage should continue to remain the union of one man and one woman. Expecting the president to obey the Constitution is also declared by Obama media sycophants and the mainstream media a bit nutty, mean-spirited, racist, and extreme.

The left, assisted by their buddies in the MSM, use a very effective tactic to render conservatives politically impotent. They accuse us of being haters and aggressors, all the while forcing every item on their socialist/progressive list down America’s throats. Conservatives who were simply minding their own business are branded the bad guys.

Conservatives are swiftly becoming an ever-increasingly “silenced majority” — persecuted, intimidated, and bullied into shutting up. Rush Limbaugh says our country is in the midst of a peaceful takeover. America as founded is slipping away daily.

…Forefather of Our Conservatism.

Another great read from Heritage.org

Calvin Coolidge: Forefather of Our Conservatism
By Joseph Postell, Ph.D.

Calvin Coolidge is the only President in American history born on the Fourth of July. It is appropriate that he bears this distinction, since Coolidge—more so than any other President of the 20th century—embodied a dedication to the principles that the Founders fought to establish in the American Revolution. In addition, he lived at a time when these principles came under radical assault, and Coolidge, a fierce critic of Progressivism, offered one of the greatest defense of these principles. He is an intellectual and political forefather of modern American conservatism.

Brave New World
By Victor Davis Hanson

The Revolutions We Missed

Sometimes societies just plod along, oblivious that the world is being reinvented right under their noses. In 2000, one never saw pedestrians bumping into themselves as they glued their noses to iPhones. Thirteen years later, it is almost rare to see anyone on the street who is not stumbling about, networking or texting. Yet most of us are scarcely aware of the collective effect of that odd habit repeating itself millions of times over each day, of millions of books not read, of “hellos” not offered, of brains wired to screens rather than the physical world about them. When cars once drifted into your lane, you assumed a DUI; now their drivers are most likely texting.

Cars, of course, look about the same as they did thirty years ago. But we just assume now that they almost never break down. Up until 1980 I used to see them with hoods up by the side of the road almost every five miles or so. Today, entire notions such as points, plugs, tune-ups, and carburetors have simply quietly passed away for most motorists. The old jalopy with 100,000 miles on it was junk; the new Accord with 150,000 miles has another easy 250,000 to go. The world changes while we snore.

…today is Ronald Reagan’s 102nd birthday. Mine is tomorrow. Not 102. Not admitting anything.

I remember him fondly. He was my first Commander in Chief and I saw what his policies did to make the US military the powerhouse that it is today.

When I got to my first unit in 1981, the policies of Carter were destroying the readiness of the Army in a big way. Parts for vehicles were in short supply and training was limited.

After Reagan’s policies kicked in and the military was funded properly, we got the parts we needed and our training increased in a huge way. Readiness increased continually up to the Gulf War.

I cried like a bitch when he was laid to rest.

At any rate, happy Ronaldus Maximus Reagan Day!

Record 40 states honor Reagan birthday; 8 Democratic guvs balk

Ronald Reagan can count 40 states that still remember the Gipper fondly.

On his 102nd birthday Wednesday, 40 states–a record–have proclaimed February 6 “Ronald Reagan Day.” Eight Democratic governors have refused to recognize Reagan Day and two others are on the fence.

The Reagan honor is also a tribute to Grover Norquist, head of Americans for Tax Reform. He also heads the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project which asks the nation’s governors to set the day aside for Reagan.

“Ronald Reagan led America forward to defeat the threats to our prosperity of high taxes, inflation, and recession at home and a surging Soviet Empire abroad. He left America stronger, freer, and safer than the day he became President,” said Norquist, whose project also encourages the naming of roads, buildings and landmarks after Reagan.

…if you’re an Independent that is going to cast a protest vote, or not vote at all, then if Obama is reelected, it’s your fault.
Plain and simple.
Conservatives outnumber liberals 2 to 1 in America.
This race shouldn’t even be close.
Liberals want the destruction of America as we know it and to replace it with Socialism.
If you don’t vote for Romney, you are complicit in that.
You can stand on principle, but what about the very fact that Obama goes against all your Conservative principles, whereas with Romney, there’s a chance to restore some of what Obama has taken away, and it’s a great opportunity to kick the liberals in the teeth.
Get your ass off the couch, find another like minded Conservative and vote this menace out of office!

…to our problems, government is the problem.” A wise man once said.
This is an excellent video.
If this doesn’t convince you to vote for Conservatism, nothing will.

…kicks ass. This is a man I could support for President.

Or as my uncle used to say: “horsefeathers!”
Really.

This is an excellent article.

The Great Horse-Manure Crisis of 1894

Our Economic Past | Stephen Davies

We commonly read or hear reports to the effect that “If trend X continues, the result will be disaster.” The subject can be almost anything, but the pattern of these stories is identical. These reports take a current trend and extrapolate it into the future as the basis for their gloomy prognostications. The conclusion is, to quote a character from a famous British sitcom, “We’re doomed, I tell you. We’re doomed!” Unless, that is, we mend our ways according to the author’s prescription. This almost invariably involves restrictions on personal liberty.

These prophets of doom rely on one thing—that their audience will not check the record of such predictions. In fact, the history of prophecy is one of failure and oversight. Many predictions (usually of doom) have not come to pass, while other things have happened that nobody foresaw. Even brief research will turn up numerous examples of both, such as the many predictions in the 1930s—about a decade before the baby boom began—that the populations of most Western countries were about to enter a terminal decline. In other cases, people have made predictions that have turned out to be laughably overmodest, such as the nineteenth-century editor’s much-ridiculed forecast that by 1950 every town in America would have a telephone, or Bill Gates’s remark a few years ago that 64 kilobytes of memory is enough for anyone.

…of Paul Ryan’s speech. I enjoyed the speech a lot. He hit a lot of points that will definitely hurt the Obama campaign’s efforts. Those that are just now starting to pay attention to politics will look at this and wonder what the hell the MSM has been doing these last four years. They obviously weren’t doing their job.

Over at Townhall.com there’s a good analysis of the speech, with highlights from it that you should go take a look at.

Wednesday Night Grand Slam
Guy Benson

GOP Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan delivered exceptionally strong remarks in Tampa tonight, capping off an incredible hour of nationally-televised speeches from Republican headliners.  The construction and tone of Ryan’s address was masterful.  He was serious, earnest, likeable — and he took apart President Obama’s record with great skill and relish.  The Congressman opened with a stark assessment of the dismal campaign President Obama has been forced to run, due to his failed record in office:

I’m the newcomer to the campaign, so let me share a first impression.  I have never seen opponents so silent about their record, and so desperate to keep their power.  They’ve run out of ideas.  Their moment came and went. Fear and division are all they’ve got left.  With all their attack ads, the president is just throwing away money – and he’s pretty experienced at that.  You see, some people can’t be dragged down by the usual cheap tactics, because their ability, character, and plain decency are so obvious – and ladies and gentlemen, that is Mitt Romney.
