11 Facts About Medal of Honor Recipient Clinton Romesha

BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff
January 17, 2013 3:59 pm

Former Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha (ROE-muh-shay), 31, will receive the Medal of Honor next month for heroic actions during the day-long attack on Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan.

More than 300 Taliban attacked Keating early in the morning of Oct. 3, 2009, from all four sides and from higher ground. Armed with recoilless rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars, machine guns, and rifles, the Taliban swarmed the site, occupied by only 53 Americans and two Latvians. A score of Afghans stationed there had abandoned the site. Mortars hit Keating every 15 seconds during the first three hours of the attack. Taliban breached the site and destroyed 70 percent of Keating with a fire.

The Remnant's Highway

This is an email reply to “Brad”, an email only acquaintance who is a Socialist and Democrat (but I repeat myself). His claim was that the founding of America was based on some tenets of Socialism

Ah, twisting the tail of truth again…
It is certainly true that that there were many opinions of what government should be in 1776, and among them those who still wanted the Royalty of England to rule them.

Likewise, there were other thoughts then as now of how a government should operate. The Federalist papers were for instance, that argument back and forth put to pen. So it would be of no surprise that some might vy for this socialist attitude you attempt to express here.

…this is something that should be watched.
I remember the pictures from the Jared Lee Loughner shooting. I remember the girl that he talks about.

…here’s your Thursday booty call.
Enjoy!

…and it’s a doozy.
I keep asking the same thing. There once was a time when Democrats wanted liberty and freedom. What happened?

There was once a time when the media wouldn’t allow this to happen in America. What happened to them?

Here’s the quote:

Where is the liberal outrage? Where is the liberal suspicion about powerful, unchecked governments? Where is the liberal unflinching devotion to individual liberty?

That gem is the opening to this:

HURT: Gun edicts put personal liberty under fire
By Charles Hurt

Where is the liberal outrage? Where is the liberal suspicion about powerful, unchecked governments? Where is the liberal unflinching devotion to individual liberty?

We have a president who has radically reshaped the landscape of American government so that it is more of a behemoth than at any time in history and more involved in every aspect of our lives. It is also more unanswerable than ever before.

Now this president is issuing 23 new edicts aimed at curbing individuals’ gun rights. At the same time, his federal agencies are stockpiling more and more weapons and ammunition.

And for what, exactly? To go hunting? To shoot the Chinese when they come to collect their debts? To shoot Mexicans tumbling over the Southern border? To shoot the Canadians?

What does the Department of “Homeland Security” suddenly need 1.4 billion more rounds of ammunition at the very point the same government is making it harder for citizens to arm themselves?

There are only 300 million of us. How many bullets do you need? That’s more than four bullets for every American man, woman and child. Is your aim really that bad? I mean, have you seen us lately? We are too fat to run very far.

You can say these concerns are some sort of Alex Jones, wack-nut, black helicopter paranoia or you can simply ask, “Why does the government need a billion more rounds of ammo just as it is trying to disarm citizens?”
