Gun control laws do not control guns. They control law abiding citizens and turns them into puppets of a tyrannical government.
I’m sorry for the loved ones effected by this shooting. This shooting would have occurred even if the assault weapons ban was in place. This shooting would not have occurred if we didn’t create gun free zones where people that are trained in the use of firearms were allowed to stand watch over our most precious commodity.
And as usual, the Democrats can’t let a good crisis go to waste and the first thing out of their collective cock holes is that we need to ban guns. Sorry morons, that isn’t going to fix the problem, ask Chicago. Guns have been banned in Chicago for years, and their crime and murder rate is through the roof. Guess who doesn’t have guns. That’s right, the people who need them to defend themselves against the thugs of Chicago. Rahm Emanuel approves, I’m sure.
My heart hurts for the parents and loved ones of all these victims. This tragedy is one that I can only imagine how they feel. My condolences to them all.
However, a knee-jerk reaction as is happening with the liberals and media, but I repeat myself, is not how this issue should be addressed.
What needs to be addressed is the fact that in America, mental illness (Read this: I am Adam Lanza’s Mother) is treated only after the person with the illness commits a crime. Then, they are placed into the correctional institutions around the country, where they are not given the kind of treatment that they need, are released again and bad things happen. In this case, the shooter had mental issues, but was not being treated for them effectively. Let’s ban mental illness.
A gun in the hands of any of the six adults that were killed, would have stopped the killing. Gun free zones are targets of opportunity that evil people will use to their advantage. I think that all teachers that are comfortable with firearms should be trained in defensive handgun tactics and be allowed to carry on school grounds. Once this is done, people that have issues, won’t think a school is a safe place to go kill people.
In China, where guns are banned, a knife wielding man stabbed 23 children. Let’s ban all knives.

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of “gun control” advocates?
The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.
If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.
Places and times with the strongest gun control laws have often been places and times with high murder rates. Washington, D.C., is a classic example, but just one among many.
When it comes to the rate of gun ownership, that is higher in rural areas than in urban areas, but the murder rate is higher in urban areas. The rate of gun ownership is higher among whites than among blacks, but the murder rate is higher among blacks. For the country as a whole, hand gun ownership doubled in the late 20th century, while the murder rate went down.
