Another chink in the armor of the anti-gun assholes in Chicago just got handed to them.

What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not get?

Federal judge kicks out part of Chicago’s gun law

Ban on permits for those convicted of unlawful use of weapon is called unconstitutional

By Dahleen Glanton and Liam Ford, Chicago Tribune reporters

Chicago’s firearm ordinance took another blow Tuesday when a federal judge ruled that the section banning permits for people convicted of unlawful use of a weapon is vague and unconstitutional.

The city must now decide whether to appeal the ruling or rewrite the part of its gun ordinance that bars individuals convicted of even misdemeanor offenses from possessing a firearm in their home for self-defense.

The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by Shawn Gowder, who claimed his constitutional right to bear arms was violated when he was denied a firearm permit two years ago because of a misdemeanor conviction for possessing a gun on a public street.

The lawsuit, backed by the National Rifle Association, is one of at least five cases pending against the city’s gun ordinance, which was passed in 2010 just days after theU.S. Supreme Court struck down the city’s 28-year ban on handguns. The Illinois State Rifle Association also filed a brief in support of Gowder.

Looks like this goes all the way to the top, and the top just stymied the investigation into Eric Holder and Fast and Furious.

It’s way past time to impeach both.

Congress needs to get off its ass and deal with this shit like they got a pair of balls for once.

Obama asserts executive privilege

PETE YOST

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Justice Dept says that President Barack Obama has asserted executive privilege to withhold documents a House committee is seeking in an investigation of a flawed gun-smuggling probe.

You first assholes. You first.
When the DNC and their super PACs pony up their list of donors, then, and only then would I even entertain the idea. But until then, the GOP super PACs need to tell these asshats to go pound sand.
I think the only reason they’re trying this shit is because the super PAC ads are kicking their ass.

Obama campaign requests outside Republican group disclose donors

By Alina Selyukh

(Reuters) – Democratic President Barack Obama’s top campaign lawyer filed a complaint with the federal election regulator on Tuesday, demanding that the well-heeded and high-spending Republican advocacy group Crossroads GPS disclose its donors.

This is the latest Democratic effort to slow down Crossroads GPS, run by former aide to President George W. Bush Karl Rove, which plans to spend some $300 million alongside its sister “super” political action committee to help Republican candidates ahead of the November 6 election, largely through advertising.

Republican non-profit and “Super PAC” groups have been far outpaced their Democratic rivals in fundraising and spending, which expected to help presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney bridge the fundraising gap between his and Obama’s election campaigns.

Is that really just a fly? Swarms of cyborg insect drones are the future of military surveillance

By Daily Mail Reporter

The kinds of drones making the headlines daily are the heavily armed CIA and U.S. Army vehicles which routinely strike targets in Pakistan – killing terrorists and innocents alike.

But the real high-tech story of surveillance drones is going on at a much smaller level, as tiny remote controlled vehicles based on insects are already likely being deployed.

Over recent years a range of miniature drones, or micro air vehicles (MAVs), based on the same physics used by flying insects, have been presented to the public.

The fear kicked off in 2007 when reports of bizarre flying objects hovering above anti-war protests sparked accusations that the U.S. government was accused of secretly developing robotic insect spies.

Obama’s grandfather tortured by the British? A fantasy (like most of the President’s own memoir)

By Toby Harnden

A new biography of Barack Obama has established that his grandfather was not, as is related in the President’s own memoir, detained by the British in Kenya and found that claims that he was tortured were a fabrication.

‘Barack Obama: The Story’ by David Maraniss catalogues dozens of instances in which Obama deviated significantly from the truth in his book ‘Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance’. The 641-page book punctures the carefully-crafted narrative of Obama’s life.

One of the enduring myths of Obama’s ancestry is that his paternal grandfather Hussein Onyango Obama, who served as a cook in the British Army, was imprisoned in 1949 by the British for helping the anti-colonial Mau Mau rebels and held for several months.
