Yeah, she ain’t a combat bird, but without her, many pilots would have to learn on something probably inferior, or way too expensive to maintain.

Happy 50th Birthday, T-38 Talon

4/15/2009 – EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Fifty years and an old runway ago, a T-38 Talon flew over Edwards, marking the beginning of its career.

From then on, the aircraft continued to add to its list of accomplishments, and on April 10, Team Edwards celebrated the T-38’s first flight and its historical achievements.

Tea parties send a powerful message

by Donald Lambro

WASHINGTON — Days after several hundred thousand angry Americans rallied to protest President Obama’s big-spending agenda, he asked his Cabinet to find ways to cut $100 million from the budget.

It was a defensive, seemingly symbolic move to blunt the political impact of last week’s nationwide April 15 “tea party” rallies that drew nearly 400,000 Americans to some 300 events from Bakersfield, Calif., to Atlanta, Ga., where more than 15,000 people showed up.

Texans always claim they have the right to secede from the union. They act as if that is their own privilege by virtue of being a Texan. Actually, every state has the same right to secede from the union. Several states have already made it known that they will enforce the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Hell, even the silly state of California is entertaining the thought.

Parting Company

Texas Gov. Rick Perry rattled cages when he suggested that Texans might at some point become so disgusted with Washington’s gross violation of the U.S. Constitution that they would want to secede from the union. Political hustlers, their media allies and others, who have little understanding, are calling his remarks treasonous. Let’s look at it.

Typical Democrat if you ask me. The “Don’t blame me” schtick is a policy position for them in my opinion. A liberal taking responsibility for their own actions is rare indeed. I don’t think Obama is any different in that vein; maybe he’s just whinier than the regular run of the mill liberal.

The Obama Doctrine: “Don’t Blame Me”

by Ben Shapiro

President Barack Obama’s recent foreign policy triumphs have his supporters cheering. From his European tour, where he apologized for American arrogance, to his most recent trip to Latin America, where he gladly accepted an anti-American screed from Hugo Chavez, Obama has soared from triumph to triumph.

Mr. Obama… How far would you go to save an American life?

by Bobby Eberle

In case you hadn’t heard, America is no longer fighting a “war on terror.” That’s right… Obama and company have decided to drop the phrase along with the term “terrorist.” Apparently, it’s fine to use the word “pirate,” but we can no longer send the “wrong” message by referring to terrorists as “terrorists.”

Do Obama and his left-wing cohorts remember what happened on September 11, 2001? I certainly do. Given the fact that Obama felt it necessary to release previously classified memos regarding American interrogation techniques, it seems to me that he is more concerned with the rights of terrorists than the lives of the American people. Yes, that sounds like a harsh statement, but read on, and let’s put the facts together. It all comes down to this fundamental question that any American could ponder, “How far would you go to save an American life?”

It’s simple supply and demand, economics 101 stuff, but this is a good view of it in the ammo world.

Supply Chain Management 101: on the ammunition shortage.

Gunstores continue to be a never-ending source of hilarity. Walk into your local shooting emporium and ask why there is an ammo shortage, and you’ll hear inane speculation coupled with a conspiracy theory or two. The reality is that the supply chain for ammunition is relatively inelastic, and is easily overwhelmed by a sudden jump in sales.

Words Versus Realities

by Thomas Sowell

Much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I must report the shocking facts: Medical care is medical care. Nothing more and nothing less.

This may not seem like a breakthrough on the frontiers of knowledge. But it completely contradicts what is being said by many of those who are urging “universal health care” because so many Americans lack health insurance.

Civility and Tolerance in the Age of Obama

by Michelle Malkin

They told us if Barack Obama were elected, the nation would come together. Souls would be fixed. Spirits would be healed. Public discourse would be elevated. Welcome to civility and tolerance in the Age of Obama:

— Celebrity leech/trash blogger Perez Hilton took to the Internet and TV airwaves to humiliate a beauty pageant contestant who gave what he considered an “offensive” answer about gay marriage. Hilton, inexplicably serving as a judge for the Miss USA contest, asked Miss California, Carrie Prejean, whether she supported the legalization of gay marriage. Prejean respectfully answered: “I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.” President Obama, by the way, defines marriage the same way Prejean does.

Napolitano is a stupid bitch, but I already knew that when Teh One chose her for the job. In fact, I look at Teh One’s selection of cabinet positions and marvel at the stupidity that he surrounds himself with. Bush at least surrounded himself with smart people. Curiouser and curiouser.

Napolitano Blames Entry Of 9/11 Hijackers On…..Canada

Apparently “smart diplomacy” means suck up to enemies and needlessly piss off friends.

The furor began when Napolitano was asked to clarify statements she had made about equal treatment for the Mexican and Canadian borders, despite the fact that a flood of illegal immigrants and a massive drug war are two serious issues on the southern border.

Flip flop? What flip flop? Nothing to see here! Move along; move along!

Pay Limits May Apply To Toxic-Asset Relief Program, Report Says

Treasury Department lawyers have determined that firms participating in a $1 trillion program to relieve banks of toxic assets could be subject to limits on executive compensation, contradicting the Obama administration’s previous public position, according to a report to be released today by a federal watchdog agency.

Another day, another Obama flip-flop

By Michelle Malkin

More Obama backtracking that will not surprise you, via ABC News:

President Obama suggested today that it remained a possibility that the Justice Department might bring charges against officials of the Bush administration who devised harsh interrogation policies that some see as torture.

These are from Feb. edition of Washington Post:

Top Obama Flip-Flops

1. Special interests In January, the Obama campaign described union contributions to the campaigns of Clinton and John Edwards as “special interest” money. Obama changed his tune as he began gathering his own union endorsements. He now refers respectfully to unions as the representatives of “working people” and says he is “thrilled” by their support.

This man absolutely disgusts me. He is incompetent and can’t lead. Great speaker to be sure, but a moron, none the less.

Our President Caving In to the Lunatic Fringe

So, I was stunned this morning to catch the morning commentaries about the President and those torture memos:

1.  Released the torture memos to get this dark period behind us.  However, did not release what the techniques accomplished.
2.  After concern for morale and ability to continue waging an effective intelligence campaign against Al Qaeda, the President realizes that he must address the CIA.  Addressing 1,000 members, he assures them, giving his word, that he will protect them.
3.  The President has his admin defend the release of the memos across the network political talk shows on Sunday morning.  Note:  No intelligence official appeared on the shows, only political operatives.

Yeah, she ain’t a combat bird, but without her, many pilots would have to learn on something probably inferior, or way too expensive to maintain.

Video: Perez vs Prager on gay marriage

by Ed Morrissey

Greg Hengler gives us the Larry King matchup between Townhall’s Dennis Prager and Perez Hilton from last night. In boxing terms, this intellectual debate would be akin to Joe Louis vs Manny Pacquiao’s public-relations guy. It’s no contest. My friend Dennis talks about philosophy, history, and biology, while Perez mostly whines about his feelings.  Perez’ corner should have thrown in the towel in the first minute.

Bush Lied, People Were Waterboarded

By Jules Crittenden

Great hit for the left! McClatchy-Tribune has the details … some of them, anyway … that among other things, Khalid Sheikh Muhammed and Abu Zubaydah were asked about Saddam-al-Qaeda operational ties during their dunkings. McClatchy and Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., are delighted to report no evidence of operational ties emerged from the sessions.

Odouchenozzle says cut $100,000,000. That would equate to .003% of his budget boondoggle. Give me a break! That’s like me cutting  back on two cups of coffee per year. He must think we’re stupid.
Only time will answer that one. If in 2010 the Democrats aren’t fired in large numbers, than he was right, we are stupid.
