I am off today, so that’s why I have some posts early today.

Normally, I just blow this off for the weekend, which I probably will after this, but since I woke up at 0430 for no good reason, other than it is my normal * “drop your cocks and grab your socks” moment; I figured I may as well post today.

Lucky you. Or is it?

Either way, have at it.

Enjoy your day.

*Army flashback, sorry.

A story of a true Soldier, a brother from up north. I encourage you to read the whole story…

The Life [And Death] Of Erin Doyle

“He died pulling the trigger. He died screaming into the face of the enemy.”

The Canadian army has a policy on facial hair. Moustaches are OK, but beards are pretty much forbidden without medical cause and even then growing anything longer than the allowed one inch is a sure way to bring a crusty sergeant major down on your own personal head.

It is called a ‘jacking.’ And it’s what happens in the Canadian Forces when a superior officer has some kind of issue with you, or with your beard.

And already they scream and moan for more gun control. Gun control only enables criminals. You will always have the occasional nutter that goes berserk. That doesn’t change the fact that gun laws are useless when it comes to criminals.

Naturally, the Calls for More Gun Control

Any American citizens who are tempted to go down the road of prohibition might be advised to consider the experience of Britain. Our handgun ban in 1997 was enacted with a fervency that went beyond rationality. . .

History always repeats itself so let’s allow a sensible Brit, Gerald Warner, to remind us:

In the wake of the recent multiple shootings in Alabama and in Germany, there are already calls for more gun control – odd, since Germany already has strict gun control laws.

Germany: More Gun Control Pointless

It sounds like the grieving people in Germany – following the murderous rampage by a teenage boy – are being more realistic about the problem than politicians and media types are, here in the U.S. Some of them, anyway.

From the Christian Science Monitor:

A focus on root causes is needed, says Erich Marks, who heads the German Crime Prevention Congress in Hannover. “We don’t need more laws,” he argues. “We don’t need private security in schools – a school is a school, it isn’t a castle…. The whole society has to be more interested in the problems of the young.”

Watching Obama turn this into a major catastrophe is painful. I just hope the media wakes up sooner, rather than later, and exposes this man for doofus he really is.

I figured it out during the primaries. Wake up people.

Here’s Ann Coulter at her usual fine self…

Are ‘Hope’ and ‘Change’ Still Tax-Deductible?

by Ann Coulter

Are you sitting down? Obama plans to pay for his $3.6 trillion-dollar spending bill by raising taxes on “the rich.” I know, I know … I was pretty shocked, too.

The bad news is, by hiking taxes in a recession, Obama will turn a disaster into a catastrophe. But there’s good news, too. The “rich” include most of Obama’s biggest supporters.

While liberals love being praised for their looks, their style, their brilliance and their courage, the one quality they don’t want talked about is their money. To the contrary, Democrats are constantly boasting about how poor they are — as if that’s a virtue in a capitalist society with no class barriers.

Democrats Wanted Bush To Fail

by Larry Elder

Three and a half years into the Iraq war, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly appeared on David Letterman’s show. He asked Letterman, “Do you want the United States to win in Iraq?” Letterman gave a long-winded answer about the evolution of his thinking on the war.

“Do you want the United States to win in Iraq?” repeated O’Reilly. Letterman paused.

O’Reilly said, “It’s an easy question.”

“It’s not easy for me,” said Letterman, “because I’m thoughtful.”

If Bush Had Done What Obama Is Doing..

by Ross Mackenzie

Herewith some questions about contrasts and double standards — and how the leftists comprising the nameless “they” who rule the world would react to what Barack Obama is doing if Obama were George Bush.

For instance . . .

If Obama were Bush, what would their reaction be to the president’s failure — even now — to submit a plan to salvage the nation’s banks?

What would they think of their president if he and his acolytes took out after the other party’s leading entertainer — Oprah Winfrey — declaring her not only de facto head of the Democratic Party but the foremost embodiment of that party’s ideological excesses?
