Simple English… Wednesday, Dec 28 2011

Never Yet Melted has an image of this on their sight. I just typed it out so it’s easier to read.

The budget explained in simple English.

I love it when complex things are simplified so that we can all understand.

  • United States tax revenue:
  • $2,170,000,000,000
  • Fed budget:
  • $3,820,000,000,000
  • New debt:
  •  $1,650,000,000,000
  • National debt:
  • $14,271,000,000,000
  • Recent budget cut:
  • $38,500,000,000

Now, remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget.

  • Annual family income:
  • $21,700
  • Money the family spent:
  • $38,200
  • New debt on the credit card:
  • $16,500
  • Outstanding balance on credit card:
  • $142,710
  • Total budget cuts which some politicians are proud about:
  • $385.

Stop the insanity now. Vote them out and demand a balanced budget.

Guantánamo Detention for American Citizens… Thursday, Dec 15 2011

The Douche bag in Chief signed this freedom stealing legislation today. America is no longer a free country. Until this provision is killed, we are slaves to the government. They can do whatever the hell they want to you now.

If you’re not pissed off, you’re not paying attention.

Better stock up on guns and ammo. Gonna need it before too long. Just saying.

Americans face Guantánamo detention after Obama climbdown

By Chris McGreal

Barack Obama has abandoned a commitment to veto a new security law that allows the military to indefinitely detain without trial American terrorism suspects arrested on US soil who could then be shipped to Guantánamo Bay.

Human rights groups accused the president of deserting his principles and disregarding the long-established principle that the military is not used in domestic policing. The legislation has also been strongly criticised by libertarians on the right angered at the stripping of individual rights for the duration of “a war that appears to have no end”.

The law, contained in the defence authorisation bill that funds the US military, effectively extends the battlefield in the “war on terror” to the US and applies the established principle that combatants in any war are subject to military detention.

The legislation’s supporters in Congress say it simply codifies existing practice, such as the indefinite detention of alleged terrorists at Guantánamo Bay. But the law’s critics describe it as a draconian piece of legislation that extends the reach of detention without trial to include US citizens arrested in their own country.

WH OKs military detention of terrorism suspects

By Phil Hirschkorn

The White House is signing off on a controversial new law that would authorize the U.S. military to arrest and indefinitely detain alleged al Qaeda members or other terrorist operatives captured on American soil.

As the bill neared final passage in the House of Representatives and the Senate on Wednesday, the Obama administration announced it would support passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which contains slightly watered-down provisions giving the military a front line role in domestic terrorism cases.

The administration abandoned its long-held veto threat due to changes in the final version of the bill, namely that in its view, the military custody mandate has been “softened.” The bill now gives the President the immediate power to issue a waiver of the military custody requirement, instead of the Defense Secretary, and gives the President discretion in implementing these new provisions.

‘Indefinite Detention’ Bill Heads To Obama’s Desk As White House Drops Veto Threat

Paul Joseph Watson

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

UPDATE: Obama has dropped his threat to veto the bill and is now expected to sign it into law. Remember – it was Obama’s White House that demanded the law apply to U.S. citizens in the first place.

The bill which would codify into law the indefinite detention without trial of American citizens is about to be passed and sent to Obama’s desk to be signed into law, even as some news outlets still erroneously report that the legislation does not apply to U.S. citizens.

“The House on Wednesday afternoon approved the rule for the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), setting up an hour of debate and a vote in the House later this afternoon,” reports the Hill.

Oh shit! Even Al Jazeera talks about it!

Detaining US citizens: How did we get here?

Aziz Rana, professor of constitutional law at Cornell University, explains the significance of provisions in the 2012 National Defense Authorisation Act that define the entire world as a battlefield, allowing for open-ended detainment of US citizens, without a trial.

Rana tells Al Jazeera that these provisions are merely the latest round in a long battle between Congress, the executive branch, and rights activists.

On the executive branch versus civil liberties:

“One of the positions in the legal community, for example, around the assassination of [Anwar] Al Awlaki, is that this is a constitutional violation.

But the executive branch has pretty systematically defended this - not that it can, under the Constitution - but it has systematically defended its ability to pursue a variety of different practices.

For example, various officials in speeches and statements have implied that the battlefield extends beyond Afghanistan or Iraq and indeed may be global. If an individual is suspected of engaging in terrorism but is in a friendly or non-hostile country – such as Yemen – that still would count as the battlefield.

Firearm Sales Way Up During Holiday Season… Thursday, Dec 15 2011

This is great news! And it comes from California no less.

The more people that have guns, the better. Guns are the only way that America will stay free. Without guns, government can do whatever the hell it wants to. Just ask Britain.

Ask the Brits about their soaring crime rates while you’re at it.

ROCKLIN CBS13 — If you’ve pulled the trigger on a new firearm this holiday season, join the club.As in your neighborhood shooting club, because faster than a speeding bullet, guns are going out the door.Well, not right away, of course — there is that 10-day waiting period, 11 here at TDS Guns in Rocklin, where Bob Norgard wasn’t caught off-guard.He’s making his purchase today so he’ll have his firearm under the Christmas tree as he joins a growing number of people who say they’re simply “doing what they need to do to protect themselves and their family.”This surge in gun sales — the best holiday sales season in three years, according to the Firearms Dealers Association — got a shot in the arm on Black Friday.

Scientists in Revolt against Global Warming… Monday, Nov 28 2011

The debate ain’t over bitches. Global warming? I say bring it on! I love global warming. The alternative really sucks. Morons.

From American Thinker:

Scientists in Revolt against Global Warming

By Karin McQuillan

Global warming became a cause to save life on earth before it had a chance to become good science. The belief that fossil fuel use is an emergency destroying our planet by CO2 emissions took over the media and political arena by storm. The issue was politicized so quickly that the normal scientific process was stunted. We have never had a full, honest national debate on either the science or government policy issues.

Everyone “knows” that global warming is true. The public has no idea of the number of scientists — precisely one thousand at last count of a congressional committee — who believe that global warming is benign and natural, and that it ended in 1998. We have not been informed of the costs to our economy of discouraging fossil fuel development and promoting alternatives. The public need to know the choices being made on their behalf, and to have a say in the matter. We are constantly told that the scientific and policy debate on global warming is over. It has just begun.

What is never discussed is this: the theory of global warming has catastrophic implications for our economy and national security. Case in point: Obama’s recent decision to block the Keystone pipeline in order to placate global warming advocates. Key Democrat supporters fear the use of oil more than they care about losing jobs or our dangerous dependence on the Mideast for oil. The president delayed the pipeline by fiat, and the general public has had no say. (For the impact on our economy, see my article, “The Whole Country Can Be Rich.”)

President Obama has spoken out passionately on the danger of developing oil and gas because of man-made global warming. “What we can be scientifically certain of is that our continued use of fossil fuels is pushing us to a point of no return. And unless we free ourselves from a dependence on these fossil fuels and chart a new course on energy in this country, we are condemning future generations to global catastrophe.”

Obama calls for the debate to end. He cites hurricanes as proof: “dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real — it’s here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster.”

Happily, our president is wrong. The worst hurricanes were in 1926, the second-worst in 1900. The world’s top hurricane experts say that there is no evidence that global warming affects storms. There is no such thing as a man-made hurricane. Storm cycles and long patterns of bad weather are entirely natural. Yet this good news is suppressed by our politicized media. We hear only one side.

Twelve Big Wins for Gun Owners Dialing Back Government Powers

Sunday, November 20th, 2011 at 7:29 PM

FAIRFAX, Va. –(Ammoland.com)- The final conference report on the combined Fiscal Year 2012 Agriculture, Commerce/Justice/Science (CJS) and Transportation/Housing/Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations bills—also known as the “Mini-Bus,” was passed by both the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate, and has been signed into law.One of the most important ways that Congress has protected the Second Amendment is through a number of general provisions included in various appropriations bills. Many of these provisions have been included in the bills for many years—some of the provisions go back almost three decades.

This conference report is no exception, as it contains 12 provisions that strengthen the Second Amendment and protect the American people.

Climate Change… It’s the Sun Stupid! Tuesday, Aug 30 2011

This is too good not to post. Especially since algore is whining again. Hey all you global warming fanatics; it’s the sun stupid.

Been saying it for years. The sun heats up the planet. Man can’t do shit or shinola about it. Man ain’t got shit to do with it either.

Global warming/climate change is bullshit.

Got news for you leftist crackheads; the earth has climate. The climate changes EVERY. FUCKING. DAY! One day it’s hot, the next it’s not! (ooh, I’m a poet and didn’t know it).

The earth has a heating and cooling cycle that it does all by itself. Man has zero effect on this process. Basic biology should have taught that to you when you went to school. Then again, if it’s a libtard school, then you were probably indoctrinated with the pseudo-science that is the religion of the left.

And oh by the way, if you haven’t read Michael Crichton’s State of Fear, you’re missing out. It’s a most excellent book.

Here’s the particulars from the article:

Sun Causes Climate Change Shock – Telegraph Blogs.

If Michael Crichton had lived to write a follow-up to State of Fear, the plotline might well have gone like this: at a top secret, state of the art laboratory in Switzerland, scientists finally discover the true cause of “global warming”. It’s the sun, stupid. More specifically – as the Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark has long postulated – it’s the result of cosmic rays which act as a seed for cloud formation. The scientists working on the project are naturally euphoric: this is a major breakthrough which will not only overturn decades of misguided conjecture on so-called Man Made Global Warming but will spare the global economy trillions of dollars which might otherwise have been squandered on utterly pointless efforts to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions. However, these scientists have failed to realise just how many people – alarmist scientists, huckster politicians,  rent-seeking landowners like (the late Michael Crichton’s brilliant and, of course, entirely fictional creation) the absurd, pompous Sir Reginald Leeds Bt, green activists, eco-fund managers, EU technocrats, MSM environmental correspondents – stand to gain from the Man Made “Climate Change” industry. Their discovery must be suppressed at all costs. So, one by one, the scientists on the cosmic ray project find themselves being bumped off, until only one man remains and must race against time to prove, etc, etc…

Except of course in the real world the second part wouldn’t happen. No one would need to go to the trouble of bumping off those pesky scientists with their awkward, annoying facts and their proper actual research. That’s because the MSM and the scientific “community” would find it perfectly easy to suppress the story anyway, without recourse to severed brake cables or ricin-impregnated hand-washes or staged “suicides”.

The Latest Climate Gore: You Knew this was Coming

First Al Gore compared climate change skeptics to the 1930s appeasers of Nazism way back in his first foray into this thicket, his 1991 book, Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit.  (This book really does deserve to be read, even 20 years later, for its [perhaps] unknowing full-on homage to Heideggerian existentialism, betraying Gore’s essentially authoritarian if not in fact totalitarian instincts.  The subtitle alone–”Ecology and the Human Spirit”–gives the game away.)  Then when that didn’t work Gore compared climate skeptics to Holocaust deniers, and “tobacco” scientists, even though there were never any independent scientists who were doubtful about the link between smoking and cancer, unlike the large number of independent scientists who are doubtful about catastrophic global warming.

Parts of Britain suffer coldest summer for nearly two decades

As Britons return to work today after a soggy Bank Holiday weekend, official weather data reveals that average temperatures were significantly down on recent years.

The UK’s average temperature from June 1 to August 15 was only 57F (13.9C) – the lowest for 13 years.

For central England the average was 59F (15C), making it the coolest summer since 1993.

Helen Waite, a Met Office forecaster, said: “The average temperature for central England this summer has been just 15C – this sort of temperature is normally typical of September.

“Generally speaking, you would expect to see temperatures of at least 17C for this time of year.”

Perry Vs. Gore

Junk Science: The governor of a state under assault by the EPA takes on the patron saint of climate change over whether “warmers” or “deniers” benefit financially from the debate. Meanwhile, the nation loses.

Is Texas governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry a racist? According to the increasingly bombastic Al “expletive deleted” Gore, who was interviewed by Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky on Ustream last Friday, Perry’s global warming skepticism qualifies him as one.

Okay, tell a lie, I changed the headline slightly: It’s actually “Mental Illness rise linked to climate.” I guess they caught the unfortunate implication of writing the headline in the way I’d prefer.

Remove Obama, Stimulate Economic Growth… Tuesday, Aug 23 2011

Interesting editorial from the Wapo. It’s no wonder that our country is in such dire straits. I think the biggest obstacle that needs to be removed to economic growth is Obama and the Democrats, but that’s just obvious.

Removing the obstacles to economic growth – The Washington Post.

By Eric Cantor, Published: August 21

Our country is facing two related but separate crises. The first is the federal government’s debt crisis, the result of decades of fiscal mismanagement by both political parties as well as unsustainable entitlement commitments. The second is the jobs crisis, which has resulted in painful levels of unemployment and underemployment. President Obama is wrong to think that the answer is to increase spendingor raise taxes when so many millions of Americans are out of work.

In fact, the Obama administration’s anti-business, hyper-regulatory, pro-tax agenda has fueled economic uncertainty and sent the message from the administration that “we want to make it harder to create jobs.” There is no other conclusion for policies such as the new Environmental Protection Agency regulations, including the “Transport Rule,” which could eliminate thousands of jobs, or the ozone regulation that would cost upward of $1 trillion and millions of jobs in the construction industry over the next decade. The administration’s new maximum achievable control technology standards for cement are expected to affect nearly 100 cement plants, setting over-the-top requirements resulting in increased costs and possibly thousands of jobs being offshored. There is the president’s silence as the National Labor Relations Board seeks to prevent Boeing from opening a plant in South Carolina that would create thousands of jobs. Such behavior, coupled with the president’s insistence on raising the top tax rate paid by individuals and small businesses, has resulted in a lag in growth that has added to the debt crisis, contributing to our nation’s credit downgrade.

Feminazi Lies, More Lies, and Damned Lies… Monday, Aug 8 2011

Hey Feminazis! Shut your pie hole!

I’ve been arguing about this from the word go.

There is no gap in pay between men and women when it comes to full time employment, unless you manipulate the data in that direction, of course.

The only way the feminazis can make their claim and supposedly back it up with data, is by, wait for it, manipulating the data in the first place. Leave out key factual evidence that would support the opposite conclusion, or minimize that actual impact not in their favor.

First we add all the women who work full time, but we can’t use just that number, we have to take that number and add it to the number of women who CHOOSE to stay at home, or work part-time, compare it to men who work full-time, which is in and of itself dubious in that they don’t consider the overtime that men would likely do, if they could, then we can claim a wage gap! That’s brilliant!

Kiss my ass you feminist douche-bags.

Here’s an excerpt:

Why the Gender Gap Won’t Go Away. Ever. by Kay S. Hymowitz, City Journal Summer 2011.

Let’s begin by unpacking that 75-cent statistic, which actually varies from 75 to about 81, depending on the year and the study. The figure is based on the average earnings of full-time, year-round (FTYR) workers, usually defined as those who work 35 hours a week or more.
But consider the mischief contained in that “or more.” It makes the full-time category embrace everyone from a clerk who arrives at her desk at 9 am and leaves promptly at 4 pm to a trial lawyer who eats dinner four nights a week—and lunch on weekends—at his desk. I assume, in this case, that the clerk is a woman and the lawyer a man for the simple reason that—and here is an average that proofers rarely mention—full-time men work more hours than full-time women do. In 2007, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 27 percent of male full-time workers had workweeks of 41 or more hours, compared with 15 percent of female full-time workers; meanwhile, just 4 percent of full-time men worked 35 to 39 hours a week, while 12 percent of women did. Since FTYR men work more than FTYR women do, it shouldn’t be surprising that the men, on average, earn more.
