…of the next war.

I went over to Bob Owens’ place and had a good read.

I think you should too. It kind of puts things in perspective when you think about whether, or not we would have to resort to fighting the government.
Bob is making a counter-point to another person’s thinking that every American would just give up their guns when the government finally says to do so.

Minutemen and the next war

I ran across an interesting article by one Jim Karger (via TTAG) this morning, that claims When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over:

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

George Washington. ‘Nuff said.

George Washington named Britain’s greatest ever foe

George Washington has been named as the greatest foe ever faced by the British.

The American was voted the winner in a contest run by the National Army Museum to identify the country’s most outstanding military opponent.

He was one of a shortlist of five leaders who topped a public poll and on Saturday was selected as the ultimate winner by an audience of around 70 guests at a special event at the museum, in Chelsea, west London.

In second place was Michael Collins, the Irish leader, ahead of Napoleon Bonaparte, Erwin Rommel and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

At the event, each contender had their case made by a historian giving a 40 minute presentation. The audience, who had paid to attend the day, then voted in a secret ballot after all five presentations had been made.

Dr Stephen Brumwell, who had championed Washington, said: “As British officers conceded, he was a worthy opponent.”

This is an excellent article from the Patriot Post. It certainly is something that has crossed my mind a lot as of late.

I worry that America won’t recover from the tyranny that is entrenched in our government.

I still believe in the Constitution and the freedom that America offers, but it seems that we have lost a lot of our freedom, especially in the last 10 years, or so.

Is it time to water the tree of liberty?

What is the Authority for Rebellion?

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” — Thomas Jefferson(PUBLISHER’S WARNING: The following essay may cause heartburn and knee-jerk reactions, especially in those who are predisposed to “give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety.” But as Benjamin Franklin concluded, they “deserve neither liberty nor safety.” For such feeble souls, Samuel Adams advised, “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!” For those who are not cast among that faint-hearted lot, please read on.)

I receive hundreds of messages every day from Patriots across the nation. For the last three years, one thematic question has emerged with ever-increasing frequency. To paraphrase that question: “What is the authority to rebel against the central government?”
