It’s still being ignored. Watergate was nothing compared to this. It is an absolute farce that Holder has not been impeached. Obama should be impeached if he is found to have any involvement in this obvious conspiracy on the part of this Administration’s DOJ.
They want your guns, so you can’t resist them. This was their moment in the sun. Unfortunately, in their eyes, they’ve been found out.
There needs to be an accounting. Holder is accountable for DOJ’s involvement from the get go, through the aftermath yet to be determined.
“The killing of Osama bin Laden during a raid by Navy SEALs on his hideout in Pakistan was the top news story of 2011, followed by Japan’s earthquake/tsunami/meltdown disaster, according to The Associated Press’ annual poll of U.S. editors and news directors,” David Crary of the Associated Press reported, presenting the news agency’s top 10 stories for the year.
Fair enough. They were huge stories. The other stories selected were all noteworthy in their own ways as well, but there is one more that is remarkable in its absence from inclusion: Fast and Furious.
We have this from the Washington Times. Teh Won is looking to backdoor the Second Amendment through his budget proposal. Wake the fuck up people. If the SCOAMF gets reelected he’s going after the Second Amendment on all fronts. He’ll have nothing to lose.
President Obama is using his budget to advance an anti-gun agenda just before the election. One particularly sneaky provision buried deep within his submission to Congress Monday would, if enacted, allow the mistakes of the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal to be repeated.
In November, the president signed the Justice Department appropriations bill, which included language from Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, prohibiting federal agencies from facilitating the transfer of an operable firearm to an individual known or suspected to be in a drug cartel, unless they monitor the weapon at all times.
Now Mr. Obama is proposing to remove that provision from the 2013 spending bill, thus making it legal to revive gun-walking operations in the future. The White House justification is merely that the prohibition is “not necessary.”
This douche bag needs to get fired. Him and anyone else involved in this fiasco. It’s been going on long enough. The lies are deep with this bunch. I’m glad to see Issa is on his ass like a dog on a bone.
Makes me wonder how much Obama knew and when he knew it.
On Tuesday Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House committee on Oversight and Government Reform, took a major step toward holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for his failure to provide subpoenaed documents and other information about Operation Fast and Furious.
In a Jan. 31 letter, Issa had threatened Holder with such a move if he failed to provide all the subpoenaed documents relating to the Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal by Feb. 9. That deadline has come and gone, and Holder’s Department of Justice still hasn’t provided most of those documents. Issa’s subpoena dates back to Oct. 12, 2011.
He just doesn’t get it. I guess this shit is par for the course with SCOAMF. The only way this shit is going to change is if we get rid of his ass in 2012 and get rid of the Democrats in both Chambers of Congress. I would include the RINOs in cleaning out Congress. Government needs to shrink, not get bigger. It’s already too big for our own good.
President Obama’s fiscal 2013 budget proposal touts the administration’s recent long-shot mortgage refinancing proposal and says the White House’s increased emphasis on the housing crisis will lead to larger taxpayer losses from a 2008 emergency bailout fund.
The budget, as expected includes a call for broadening the availability of refinancing options for borrowers who are current on their mortgages but owe more than their homes are worth. The administration said it plans to finish doling out unspent funds for housing assistance, which is likely to increase the costs of the emergency financial bailout by $20 billion — something that is likely to generate criticism from Republicans for increasing taxpayer costs.
President Obama is offering his spending blueprint for the next decade — an election-year document that seeks to achieve $4 trillion in deficit reduction through cuts in government spending, higher taxes and inclusion of last year’s debt-ceiling deal for deficit reduction.
At the same time, Obama will ask for substantial spending increases on infrastructure and job training, but will offer few reforms to entitlement programs, which take up 40 percent of the annual federal budget.
Republicans, who are vowing to oppose Obama’s tax increases, have planned several events Monday to counter the president’s release. On Sunday House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan said the president’s proposal is full of gimmicks and does little to reduce the deficit or curb the rapid growth of benefit programs like Medicare.
OBAMA BUDGET: ends Bush tax cuts for top earners, limits their deductions & exemptions, brings back top 39.6% rate
Bottom line…this is all theater since Obama’s budget is Dead on Arrival. Democrats in the Senate don’t want to touch it but Mitch McConnell is trying to bring it up for a vote.
I like it when there’s another dead tango to report. At least Obama is getting this one right. Credit where it’s due, I suppose. He’s still a SCOAMF, but at least he’s still letting the sheepdogs kill the wolves.
PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A US drone strike on a house in northern Pakistan killed at least four suspected militants, and is suspected to have killed Al Qaeda’s Pakistani leader Badar Mansoor, Fox News reports.
The attack is the second in 24 hours. A strike Wednesday in the same area killed at least 10 and several others were injured.
The back-to-back strikes could be an indication the drone program is picking up steam again after a slowdown caused by tensions with Pakistan over accidental American airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers last year.
The U.S. held off on carrying out drone strikes for over six weeks after the deadly accident on Nov. 26. There have been a handful of attacks since they resumed in January, but the last two are the first consecutive strikes since the border incident.
The house hit before dawn on Thursday was located in the main bazaar in Miran Shah, the biggest town in the North Waziristan tribal area, the country’s main sanctuary for Taliban and Al Qaeda militants, said Pakistani intelligence officials. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
Caught this over at Hill Buzz. Excellent painting. The Founding Fathers along with the Conservative Presidents are looking on with the WTF? look, while the liberals are clapping and the RINOs are like meh.
Have you seen this?
It’s landed in our inbox here at Buzzquarters a few times in the last week but it’s always forwarded without attribution — and I’d love to know who the artist is so s/he can be recognized.
At first, I thought the presidents were trying to set Barack Obama on a date with the man on the bench, but once I realized it wasn’t Kal Penn or Reggie Love sitting there I understood it was a representation of the tens of millions of out of work and desperate Americans that Obama’s willfully ignored as he’s trampled the Constitution and carried on with whatever “Hopeychange” ended up being.
This high-speed rail boondoggle is all about politics and wasting money that we don’t have. If this crap isn’t stopped in its tracks (pun) then we are truly boned, and so are the grandchildren of today’s children.
California has a huge state debt and Washington has a huge national debt. But that does not discourage either Governor Jerry Brown or President Barack Obama from wanting to launch a very costly high-speed rail system.
Most of us might be a little skittish about spending money if we were teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. But the beauty of politics is that it is all other people’s money, including among those other people generations yet unborn.
The high-speed rail system proposed for California has been envisioned as a model for similar systems elsewhere in the United States. A recent story in the San Francisco Chronicle used the high-speed rail system in Spain as an analogy for California.
Spain is about the same size as California, and has a similar population density — and population density is the key to the economic viability of mass transportation, from subways to high-speed rail.
With the global warming leftist cult coming out with their latest hissy fit seeking topurge ‘deniers’ among local weathermenI’d like to throw this out there:
TheAustralian Conservativepublished excerpts from Professor Ian Pilmer’s book How to Get Expelled From School:
Life [today] is far better than 100 years ago. We eat better, live longer, have better housing and have a richer life. Environmental ideologies are attractive and form part of personal growth. But, an ideology embraced without analysis of practical aspects is vacuous. Global warming is a fad. Once there are consequences that affect a comfortable life, then another issue will be found. And embraced again with passion. What is the next scare campaign? Ocean acidification? Biodiversity?
Climate change has been with us for the 4,500 million year history of planet Earth. This is what climate does. It always changes. Changes in our lifetime may be natural.
And also from the Australian Conservative:
If we have dangerous warming and the global temperature has increased by 0.8°C since the Little Ice Age, does this mean that the ideal temperature for life on Earth is that of the Little Ice Age?
During the Little Ice Age, people died like flies and it was really not a good time to be on Earth. Besides the cold, there were crop failures, famine, cannibalism and disease. As a child, you might have been on the menu. It was certainly not an ideal temperature then. However, a clever teacher would put you in your place and may suggest that the ideal temperature for an Eskimo is not the ideal temperature for someone living in the jungles of Borneo. You could then come back and suggest that this shows that humans can adapt to a great range of temperature so why worry about a warmer world.
The lawlessness of this administration is rampant. Obama has no respect for the law of the land. He violates the Constitution at every turn, and completely ignores the judicial branch of government. He thinks he is above the law.
And the media enables this by not reporting on it.
Last week, I noted that Obama turned his back not just on Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer, but also on the laws of the State of Georgia. I closed my column, “Georgia Ballot Challenge: Obama Walks on By,” with the observation: “And most of the media has followed along right behind him.”
At the time, I had just witnessed an historic hearing that actually discussed the eligibility of the sitting president of the United States to run for a second term. The president had been subpoenaed to appear, and instead of his attorney respectfully following protocol to have that subpoena recalled, both Obama and his attorney, Michael Jablonski, simply failed to show up at all or offer any defense whatsoever.
Isn’t there a headline in there somewhere?
The hearing proceeded as planned, even though the table for the defense was empty. Attorneys Van Irion and J. Mark Hatfield presented their cases first and offered compelling arguments — not regarding Obama’s birthplace, but rather that the non-U.S. citizenship of Obama’s father precluded Obama’s “natural born” eligibility under the Constitution and existing Supreme Court precedent. Attorney Orly Taitz, however, did present interesting evidence that questioned the validity of Obama’s birth certificate and questions surrounding his Social Security number.
