Here’s some good news out of the D.C. shithole. I posted about this earlier. Too bad it took some high powered lawyers, some Senators and the publicity that it received for this to happen. When the D.C. charges were dismissed, this man’s property should have been returned to him within the week. It’s this type of criminality from government officials that needs to be exposed, and pounced on at every occurrence.
Congress needs to reform District’s property seizure laws
The active duty soldier who had his guns confiscated by the District of Columbia two years ago will have his property returned by Memorial Day. It took the help of a high-powered lawyer, two U.S. Senators, a member of Congress and national publicity to force the obstinate District to show some respect for the Constitution. It should never happen again.
On Friday, D.C. property clerk Derek Gray determined the city would finally return 1st Lt. Augustine Kim’s “dangerous articles” because the Army national guardsman fulfilled the plea agreement arranged with the U.S. attorney’s office a year earlier. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested Lt. Kim on four felony charges of carrying firearms in the District after he was pulled over with the items securely stored in his trunk, as is allowed under federal law.
Lt. Kim pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of possessing an unregistered gun, and that charge was dismissed in May 2011. Since then, Lt. Kim’s lawyer, Richard Gadiner, had failed to get the attention of Mr. Gray, who refused to respond to his repeated requests for a hearing.

This is welcome news. Let’s hope that this law is permanently blocked.
Opponents of a U.S. law they claim may subject them to indefinite military detention for activities including news reporting and political activism persuaded a federal judge to temporarily block the measure.
U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest in Manhattan yesterday ruled in favor of a group of writers and activists who sued President Barack Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and the Defense Department, claiming a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act, signed into law Dec. 31, puts them in fear that they could be arrested and held by U.S. armed forces.
The complaint was filed Jan. 13 by a group including former New York Times reporter Christopher Hedges. The plaintiffs contend a section of the law allows for detention of citizens and permanent residents taken into custody in the U.S. on “suspicion of providing substantial support” to people engaged in hostilities against the U.S., such as al-Qaeda.
“The statute at issue places the public at undue risk of having their speech chilled for the purported protection from al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and ‘associated forces’ – i.e., ‘foreign terrorist organizations,’” Forrest said in an opinion yesterday. “The vagueness of Section 1021 does not allow the average citizen, or even the government itself, to understand with the type of definiteness to which our citizens are entitled, or what conduct comes within its scope.”

This is criminal behavior by a government entity that thinks it is itself above the law. Mr. Kim should attempt to sue the the police department and the district attorney for theft of personal property and violating his civil rights.
Keep the pressure up on these lawless fucks, or you will lose all your rights.
The one and only thing you should ever say to a cop is “I want a lawyer.” Anything else is suicide.
If you are asked if they can search your car, say no. If they ask why, say no. They have to have probable cause to search your vehicle. If they had it, they wouldn’t ask.
Don’t fuck yourself over. LAWYER UP!
MILLER: Injured vet’s guns stolen by D.C.
By Emily Miller
After being injured on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, Lt. Augustine Kim spent the night in a D.C. jail for possessing unregistered guns.
Mr. Kim was transporting his firearms from his parents’ house in New Jersey to South Carolina when he stopped at Walter Reed in Washington for a medical appointment in the summer of 2010.
After being pulled over, handcuffed, arrested, thrown in jail overnight, his guns were confiscated by the city.
In the end, the platoon leader felt forced to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge, which was later dismissed, but the District still refuses to return to him $10,000 worth of firearms and parts. The national guardsman will deploy to Kosovo this summer. The city should return his property before he leaves to serve our nation overseas for the third time.

This is just too funny not to post.
The cop in this instance will be harassed until he retires for this one.

New York Woman Arrested For Striking Cop In Forehead With Pink Sex Toy
An upstate New York woman was arrested early today after she allegedly threw a pink sex toy at a cop, who was struck in the forehead by the foot-long device.
Lisa Anderson, 47, was booked on a harassment charge after a Watertown Police Department patrolman was dispatched to a residence in response to a call about an unwanted visitor.
While answering the 3 AM call, Officer Jonathan Pitts encountered Anderson on the fourth floor of a State Street apartment building. It was there that Anderson allegedly struck Pitts in the head with the sex toy. The cop was apparently not injured.

The Constitution is under attack in this country from within. It starts at the SCOAMF and works its way down to the local levels. This trend has got to be turned around, or all of our freedoms will be nothing more than a pipe dream.
America is at a tipping point in history. If the SCOAMF gets another four years, then I fear our country is lost.
Get out and vote that piece of shit out of office in November. Doesn’t matter if you don’t like the idiot running against him. He’s a better idiot than the current occupier of the White House. Your future depends on it. Your children’s future depends on it, as does their children, ad infinitum.
By Janet Levy
The U.S. Constitution, which has guided American society for over two centuries, inspiring nations worldwide and serving as a model for governance, is under serious threat today. Ironically, that threat comes from the very individuals charged with protecting the Constitution — federal, state, and local government officials.
All these public officials take an oath to support the Constitution and to refrain from actions or laws that interfere with individual rights and liberties specified in the Constitution. Yet President Obama and officials all along the way down to local police chiefs are today actively engaged in the daily shredding of the U.S. Constitution.
The Obama administration has expanded its executive branch powers under a comprehensive czar system and myriad executive orders. Meanwhile, Congress quietly passes questionable legislation with the potential to limit personal freedoms — and U.S. agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ), engage in activities that raise serious concerns about constitutional violations. Even local law enforcement officials have become increasingly intrusive and hostile to civil liberties.
Several dramatic examples illustrate this growing problem and highlight the need for increased vigilance and public scrutiny if we are to remain a constitutional republic with our individual rights intact.

This douche bag needs to get fired. Him and anyone else involved in this fiasco. It’s been going on long enough. The lies are deep with this bunch. I’m glad to see Issa is on his ass like a dog on a bone.
Makes me wonder how much Obama knew and when he knew it.
Issa takes step toward holding Holder in contempt of Congress
By Matthew Boyle
On Tuesday Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House committee on Oversight and Government Reform, took a major step toward holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for his failure to provide subpoenaed documents and other information about Operation Fast and Furious.
In a Jan. 31 letter, Issa had threatened Holder with such a move if he failed to provide all the subpoenaed documents relating to the Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal by Feb. 9. That deadline has come and gone, and Holder’s Department of Justice still hasn’t provided most of those documents. Issa’s subpoena dates back to Oct. 12, 2011.

The assault on our Constitution is unprecedented. This Administration and the Democrats in general have been spewing absolute shit out of their shit holes under their noses. If you think for one second that this President, or his minions are pro-America, you are absolutely delusional.
They can’t do it the right way, the way it is given in the Constitution, so they want to change our Constitution to fit their collective socialist agenda.
Keep this shit up, and there will be another revolution. Those of us that took the oath like myself, will defend the Constitution against ALL enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC, and are ready to continue to defend it even now.
You assholes that think you can trample on the Constitution without a fight, are in for a rude awakening.
‘Breaking Free From the Constraints of the Founding Fathers’
By Victor Davis Hanson
In the last week in the popular press and academic journals there have been several pre-election essays and op-eds about the cumbersome nature of the U.S. Constitution as we were reminded by the president and its unsuitability for emulation by other countries per Justice Ginsburg, given contemporary supposedly superior models. In addition, we are told that food stamps are a great win-win situation for everyone, and that breaking immigration laws are infractions not really violations.
What we have here is an assault on traditional American notions of self-reliance, respect for the law, and a sense of American exceptionalism as embodied by the Constitution. It is weird, to say the least, to even hint of superior constitutional systems elsewhere, given the current chaos in South Africa, and the coming implosion of the European Union — not to mention the mess in the Middle East and Russia.

Normally I don’t post on the weekends, but I find that this is an important read. It definitely gets one thinking.
It is a good explanation for what Obama and the Democrats are trying to do.
Obama to the nation: Onward civilian soldiers
War, said James Madison, is “the true nurse of executive aggrandizement.” Randolph Bourne, the radical essayist killed by the influenza unleashed by World War I, warned, “War is the health of the state.” Hence Barack Obama’s State of the Unionhymn: Onward civilian soldiers, marching as to war.Obama, an unfettered executive wielding a swollen state, began and ended his address by celebrating the armed forces. They are not “consumed with personal ambition,” they “work together” and “focus on the mission at hand” and do not “obsess over their differences.” Americans should emulate troops “marching into battle,” who “rise or fall as one unit.”Well. The armed services’ ethos, although noble, is not a template for civilian society, unless the aspiration is to extinguish politics. People marching in serried ranks, fused into a solid mass by the heat of martial ardor, proceeding in lock step, shoulder to shoulder, obedient to orders from a commanding officer — this is a recurring dream of progressives eager to dispense with tiresome persuasion and untidy dissension in a free, tumultuous society.
Progressive presidents use martial language as a way of encouraging Americans to confuse civilian politics with military exertions, thereby circumventing an impediment to progressive aspirations — the Constitution and the patience it demands. As a young professor, Woodrow Wilson had lamented that America’s political parties “are like armies without officers.” The most theoretically inclined of progressive politicians, Wilson was the first president to criticize America’s founding. This he did thoroughly, rejecting the Madisonian system of checks and balances — the separation of powers, a crucial component of limited government — because it makes a government that cannot be wielded efficiently by a strong executive.

This should send a clear message. Will the knuckleheads in D.C. get it? That’s the real question here. I suppose if 1/5 of the people affected by this piss and moan to Congress, maybe, just maybe they’ll get the message.

Wikipedia to join SOPA blackout tomorrow
In protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act, Wikipedia will go dark tomorrow. From 5 a.m. GMT tomorrow to 5 a.m. GMT Thursday, the English version of the website will be inaccessible to anyone around the globe. Instead, an explanatory letter will greet visitors and urge Wikipedia fans to contact Congress to express disapproval of the anti-piracy act. Wikipedia is the sixth-most visited site in the world, and it’s estimated 100 million English-speaking users will be affected.
Wikipedia’s participation is a definite boost to the Reddit-led anti-SOPA blackout, which, up to this point, had secured only the participation of lesser-known sites. Still, the decision by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales to actively join the strike didn’t inspire other Internet bigwigs to follow. In fact, it just led to jeering. Twitter chief Dick Costolo, for example, tweeted, “That’s just silly. Closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish.”

The sorry excuses for Representatives and Senators are a disgrace to this country. They all need to be fired and replaced if at all possible. EVERY.ONE.OF.THEM.

UPDATE: Obama has dropped his threat to veto the bill and is now expected to sign it into law. Remember – it was Obama’s White House that demanded the law apply to U.S. citizens in the first place.
The bill which would codify into law the indefinite detention without trial of American citizens is about to be passed and sent to Obama’s desk to be signed into law, even as some news outlets still erroneously report that the legislation does not apply to U.S. citizens.
