I love it when a scumbag gets shot by one of the good guys. Especially when he’s being a scumbag. If more people were armed and allowed to carry their firearms, as the Constitution intended, then there would be a hell of a lot less victims across the board.

Veteran shoots intruder with gun carried during Korean War

ELIZABETH, Pa. – Police say an 84-year-old western Pennsylvania man wounded a home invasion suspect with the gun he carried in the Korean War.

Elizabeth Township police say 25-year-old Raymond Hiles was captured not long after trying to break into Fred Ricciutti’s home early Tuesday morning.

Ricciutti tells WPXI-TV he heard Hiles break a window and then confronted him, firing a single shot that grazed Hiles’ neck.

Investigators say Hiles was arrested a few blocks away, carrying a screwdriver and a stun gun. He’s being held on $100,000 bail on charges including criminal trespass and burglary.

Georgia Grandmother Foils Robbery By Getting Into Shootout With Suspects

MACON, Ga. (CBS Atlanta/AP) – Authorities in Georgia say a grandmother foiled a robbery attempt by two armed men by getting into a shootout with them, injuring one man.

Police told The Telegraph that Lulu Campbell just dropped off her grandson at her daughter’s house early Saturday morning when someone demanded money outside her car, threatening to shoot her.

“(The suspect) shouted, ‘Give me the (blanking) money and open the (blanking) door!’” Campbell told The Telegraph, describing her ordeal. “I said, ‘Oh my God, somebody is going to rob me.’ I said, ‘Baby, you’re going to kill me anyway, so I don’t have to open it!’”

Campbell says the man fired at her, missing. The 57-year-old fired back, striking him in the chest. Her truck sustained eight bullet holes in the hood, one in the grill. Both front side windows were destroyed. The second man fled after she shot at him.

Houston Store Owner Kills 3 Would-Be Robbers

HOUSTON — Police say a Houston jewelry store owner has shot and killed three men who tried to rob his business.

Houston police spokesman Kese Smith says two
men were in the store Thursday afternoon pretending to be customers
when a third man burst into the store and stated, “This is a robbery.”

All three men then pulled out pistols, tied up the store owner’s wife and took her to a back room.

They were trying to tie up the owner, when
he took a handgun from his waistband and fatally shot one of the
suspects. Smith said he then grabbed a shotgun and shot and killed the
other two suspects.

The store owner was shot in the stomach and taken to a Houston hospital. Smith says his wife was not hurt.

Sheriff identifies Oswego County intruder killed in Schroeppel

Schroeppel, NY — The man who was shot and killed during an apparent burglary Saturday at a Schroeppel home has been tentatively identified.

Oswego County Sheriff’s officials said Timothy Hartigan, 39, was killed after Deanna Candee, 48, and her son, Adam Candee, 25, came home to their residence at 211 Hilltop Drive to find an intruder.

A violent struggle ensued during which Deanna Candee got her pistol and shot Hartigan once, sheriff’s officials said.

Plantation, FL — Last week police were called to investigate an
attempted armed robbery:

A 71-year-old retired Marine who opened fire on two robbers at a Subway
shop in Plantation , Florida late Wednesday, killing one and critically
wounding the other, is described as John Lovell, a former helicopter
pilot for two presidents.  He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, and he
works out everyday.  Mr. Lovell was a man of action Wednesday night.

According to Plantation police, two masked gunmen came into the Subway
at 1949 North Pine Road just after 11 p.m.  There was a lone diner, Mr.
Lovell, who was finishing his meal.  After robbing the cashier, the two
men attempted to shove Mr. Lovell into a bathroom and rob him as well.
They got his money, but then Mr. Lovell pulled his handgun and opened
fire.  He shot one of the thieves in the head and chest and the other in
the head.

Howard Nemerov talks about child access laws and basically how useless they really are. A 10 year old boy shot an intruder, saving himself and his sister. What does the media talk about? He’s 10 and shouldn’t have had access to the gun. Yeah, he should be dead instead, right? Morons.

My son can shoot. He’s 10. I will continue to take him out as often as I can and teach him the finer techniques and get the practice in that he needs. You idiots that think guns are the problem; are really the problem, the Brady campaign is also the real problem. The crap they advocate gets people killed.

Why do children need guns?

With the recent report of a 10-year-old saving himself and his 8-year-old sister from two home invaders, “conventional” wisdom about keeping children away from guns needs reexamination.

Last Tuesday, the boy and his sister were home alone while their mother was out working. When two men kicked in the apartment door, the children ran to their mother’s bedroom closet, where the boy retrieved his mother’s gun. When the invaders threatened the kids, the boy shot one of them in the face. At this point, the attackers retreated to a hospital, where police arrested them.

One of the invaders was released on June 6, after serving “almost seven years in prison for aggravated assault on a Baton Rouge police officer and two carjacking charges.”

College Student Shoots, Kills Home Invader

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A group of college students said they are lucky to be alive and they’re thanking the quick-thinking of one of their own. Police said a fellow student shot and killed one of two masked me who burst into an apartment.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones met with one of the students to talk about the incident.

“Apparently, his intent was to rape and murder us all,” said student Charles Bailey.
