I hate unions. I think they create an atmosphere that is not conducive to competition within the free market system. They are expensive for the employer and they pretty much tie the employer’s hands when it comes to getting rid of the assholes that don’t do their job effectively.
Case in point; teacher’s unions.
How many times have you heard them cry “it’s for the children!” whenever they whine for more money? They use that shit every time they want more money. It’s not for the children. Don’t buy that shit. 80% of the money that states and municipalities throw at schools goes into the teacher’s pockets, either through a bloated bureaucracy, or to their pensions and health care.
How much do teachers pay for their health care? In places like Detroit, or L.A. it’s zero. When those assholes are striking, it’s not for the children, it’s for their own bottom line. It’s high time that unions were disallowed in public service and especially in schools.

Whether or not you support President Obama’s policies, one thing is becoming increasingly obvious: He simply lacks competence. The best indicator of this is his ineffectiveness in accomplishing any of his own objectives. His first year in office resembles the career of a quarterback who never completes a pass. His list of failures is all too familiar — health care reform, closing Guantánamo, cap-and-trade, and so on. He has failed to accomplish any of his self-identified top priorities. Other than getting himself elected, he appears to have a very limited range of abilities.
I have recently come to the conclusion that leftists reveal their innermost thoughts when attacking those with whom they disagree. For example, in President Obama’s recently televised meeting with Republicans, he chastised critics who believe his policies are part of some “Bolshevik plot.”
HHS has finally released the second installment of its series of studies on the persistence of Head Start effects. Its finding (see page xiv): virtually all academic effects disappear by the end of 1st grade. There is only one positive statistically significant finding out of eleven academic outcomes measured, the size of that effect is minuscule by recognized standards (it’s half way between zero and what most social scientists consider “small”), and the confidence in the finding is low by recognized standards. (Many authors would categorize it as “insignificant” rather than “significant” — it’s only significant at a 90% confidence interval, not the more common 95% confidence interval).
Via Marc Morano at Climate Depot comes word that Stanford University is trying to cover for one of its leading eco-extremists:
Stanford University has banned a skeptical documentary film from airing a climate change interview with one of its prominent warming activist professors, Stephen Schneider. After legal threats from Stanford University — apparently on behalf of Prof. Schneider — the documentary filmmakers were forced to use a blank screen and an actor had to read the transcript of Schneider’s already taped but legally banned climate interview. The skeptical global warming documentary “Not Evil Just Wrong”, set for its international premier on October 18, 2009, interviewed Schneider about his flip-flop from a coming ice age proponent in the 1970s to his current advocacy of man-made global warming fears. Schneider is a professor of biological sciences at Stanford University. (email: shswebsite@lists.stanford.edu)
Where does Obama find these assholes? I think this guy is a closet homo/pedophile and he’s in charge of safe schools!! That’s why my kid goes to a private school. Idiots like this have no say over it.
An elementary school class in New Jersey was reportedly videotaped singing songs praising the “great accomplishments” of President Obama as they are apparently conducted and coaxed on by teachers.
Nearly 20 young children are captured in an online video as they sing songs that overflow with campaign slogans and praise for “Barack Hussein Obama,” as they repeatedly chant the president’s name and celebrate his accomplishments, including his “great plans” to “make this country’s economy No. 1 again.”
We’ve warned abouttheindoctrinationof ourschool childrenbefore. Some Americans laughed. I guess this doesn’t bother them at all. Well, it bothers the heck out of me. How warped are our priorities as a nation when we teach our school children its ok to hate the country and deplore its founding, and at the same time teach them to sing in praise of an individual President, who as they put it is “number one”?
In case you were wondering which school taught kids that “Barack Hussein Obama mmm mmm mmm” rap that I posted yesterday afternoon, here are some new details.

Tuesday we posted about “National Keep Your Child at Home Day“. This post was picked up by World Net Daily and posted on Free Republic leading to an onslaught of traffic, tons of e-mails and contacts with some people I wouldn’t even believe. It also caused a ton of comments in our post, first by people who were mostly supportive, and then an ever increasing number of astroturfers trying to quiet our dissent. At one point, a liberal blogger was commenting multiple times in the span of a few minutes… trying to somehow prove he was right and bury all those who disagree. He was also likely trying to benefit from the huge amount of traffic our site has been inundated with over the past two days. Regardless, the motives of that poster and a few others were crystal clear…. they don’t want debate, they don’t even want to hear our voice. All they want is to scream from the hilltops that they won, they are right, and to drown out anyone else.
