And another failure to add to his stack of growing failures.

Obama’s Second Major Terror Failure in Two Months
James Lewis

Luck was with us on Northwest flight 253. Dumb luck.

This terror attack could easily have been averted but for the Aloha, baby! attitude of the Obumblers regarding domestic terrorism. At Fort Hood last month, a couple of cops finally brought down an Islamofascist killer after he murdered twelve soldiers and left thirty wounded on the tarmac. On Flight 253 to Detroit it happened to be an alert Dutch filmmaker who jumped the would-be bomber when his pants started to burn. But the bomb was an ingredient of Semtex, and he was trying to inject a liquid detonator that could have blown up the Airbus A 330 with 278 people on board.

The attack that failed due to a terrorist being a moron, is not the “system worked” that I would expect. The system didn’t work. The President is a putz, his appointed moron to DHS is absent from reality, and the press, they’re continuing to suck Obama’s ass.

When do we start the proceedings for impeachment? He is failing at his number one responsibility. Protect and defend the United States of America. FAIL.

At the very least the DHS Secretary needs to be fired.

Oh, I’m So Relieved; Obama “Likely” To Speak About Christmas Day Attack
By Gabriel Malor

All part of the Left’s unserious response to terrorism; the President will get around to doing his job just as soon has he finishes his waffles:

White House sources tell ABC News the President will “likely” speak publicly about the alleged attempted terrorist attack on Flight 253 in the next few days. The President is on vacation in his native state of Hawaii – he has received regularly briefings on the incident and called for increased security for air travel, along with a full review of the terror watch list procedures. The White House is adamant that the President is actively engaged on the incident behind the scenes, receiving regular updates as information comes in. While on vacation Mr. Obama does not keep a public schedule, but he did spend much of the day golfing on Saturday and is spending Sunday with his family at the beach.

The President’s disengagement from one of his primary duties—to defend the United States—is so galling because Obama so clearly knows what he is supposed to be doing, but doesn’t want to be bothered. That’s why every single unnamed White House source for the past three days has “stressed that the President is very concerned about what is going on in the world and is actively engaged at all levels.”

The System? B+
By Ace

As Gabe notes below, “The system worked” is such a fire-breathingly insane and stupid statement to make Napolitano should resign at once. Either she believes this rot, and she’s too stupid and too content with pure luck being America’s defense to keep her job, or she’s the most viciously mendacious liar in the history of history.

And sure, I have no doubts this pap is being pushed by Axelrod, Emmanuel, and of course Captain Wonderful, who didn’t feel like taking a 7 am call about what could have been a coordinated terrorist attack requiring his order for the immediate grounding of all flights.

Death Star Thermal Exhaust Port Defensive Grid? The system worked.

Media Lowlights of 2009

Here’s a nice roundup of the year’s best of the worst from the media. Too many really to try and narrow down, but Accuracy in Media gave it a go. I think they missed quite a few, but that would likely turn into a book, rather than an article.

Watch The Decline: The Media Lowlights Of 2009
By K. Daniel Glover

Climate “scientists” are about as trusted as used-car salesmen or congressmen these days thanks to the beating their profession has taken in the “ClimateGate” scandal. But give the alarmists their due: They know how to hide the decline.

Their friends in the media, on the other hand, are not quite so skilled at chicanery. The press practices plenty of sniper journalism, the kind that kills unaware readers and viewers from afar. But journalists attack in the open often enough that Americans can watch the decline of the Fourth Estate in all of its embarrassing glory.

They had a lot to watch in 2009 — a year marked by the media’s anointed leader moving into the White House, liberals ascending to one-party control of Washington and, to hear journalists report it, an angry mob of dangerous extremists daring to reject the hope-and-change narrative.

The Left’s Blind Eye to the Obvious
Jack Cashill

The approach of the new year might be an appropriate time to summarize what I have learned in researching the several books and articles that I have written this decade. That I came to own — or even break — many of the stories involved, although satisfying to me, should appall any ordinary citizen.

These stories were too big for a responsible media to miss.  They became mine as a result of what I call the “ABETTO Syndrome.”  For at least the last generation, the left in general, and the media in particular, have been turning A Blind Eye To The Obvious — ABETTO. Here are some nuggets the media chose not to notice. These are all thoroughly and inarguably documented.

I like Robin’s writing, and the fact that it comes from a reformed liberal makes me even more happy…

The Hypocrisy of the Left

By Robin of Berkeley

I have been looking for God my whole life. I first recognized Him in the black foster parents I worked with who manifested Christ-consciousness.
I then found him four years ago, when my parents died three weeks apart and I was carried by a force stronger than myself. And more recently, as I’ve gone from left to right, I have discovered him in the many conservatives guiding me, such as AT readers.
Given my spiritual longing, I decided it was time to explore places of worship. Being a secular Jew, my first step should have been a temple. However, the synagogues around here are practically recruitment stations for Obama (aside from the Orthodox ones, but I don’t speak a word of Hebrew). So I decided to experience church on Christmas Eve.

Yeah, his lordship is falling on his face and the court jester is laughing his ass off.

The world is not impressed with this knucklehead and it shows.

Obama’s Image: What a Difference a Year Makes

By Ed Lasky

Almost a year has passed since January 20, 2009 — when the waters of the ocean no longer rose and America began to heal from the depredations of Republicans. Barack Obama has been our president for that long, and the people have started to wise up.

The light that shines on Barack Obama as president has reflected back an image that bears very little similarity to the iconic visage that floated above us all in 2008. Why has Barack Obama betrayed so many allies, broken so many promises, thrown so many pledges and people under the bus?

I’ve been sick the last few days, and I am still fighting this crud, so I won’t post until I feel better.

Merry Christmas.

Double-D Strategy…

Posted: 17 Dec 2009 in Conservatism

A strategy worth looking at. I am inclined to do just that.  Defund and disobey.

Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler

A friend of mine lives in Kona on the Big Island in Hawaii.  He has a fishing boat which he proudly named the 44-DD after a spectacular feature of his wife’s anatomy.  This is not about that sort of Double-D.

While it may be difficult to keep your mind off what that spectacular feature might look like – just as it’s hard to comply with the demand that you not think of a pink elephant – let’s try and focus on a Double-D that can rescue our country from the clutches of the Fascist Democrat Party and the destruction being wrought upon it by President Zero.

So – what does this Double-D stand for? It’s a strategy for any Republican wanting to get elected or re-elected to Congress in 2010, and for any Tea Partyer wanting to take individual action now against a government that ignores the Constitution.   Double-D stands for Defund and Disobey.

Climate Scientists and Ethics: Some Advice from a Finance Professor
Theo Vermaelen

Climate scientists need to learn about ethics from finance professors, another group who gather historical data and construct models to make forecasts.

Climate scientists from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia have come under fire as a result of the release of thousands of e-mails and documents. The e-mails allegedly reveal data manipulation and intimidation of opponents to promote the theory of man-made global warming. As a result of the scandal, dubbed “Climategate,” some of the climatologists involved have stepped aside or are under investigation by their university. An update on the latest press clippings on Climategate can be found at

Climategate’s Stubborn Facts
Dexter Wright

Mark Twain once said, “Get your facts first, then distort them as much as you please.” By contrast, he also exclaimed, “How empty is theory in the presence of fact!” This pretty well covers the recent controversy over the altered global temperature data from Dr. Jones at East Anglia University in Great Britain.

What are the facts? Well for starters, scientists at the Smithsonian Institution tell us that during what is known as the Medieval Optimum, the Vikings were growing grapes in Greenland. An agronomist at Virginia Tech suggest that if you are planning to start a vineyard, the roots of the vines cannot be exposed to temperatures below 25oF or the vine will die. Even though there were no thermometers at the time of Eric the Red, this gives us a benchmark for reference. There are no vineyards in Greenland today because it is too cold. In fact, the Smithsonian reports that there is evidence which supports the theory that the Viking colonies later collapsed as a result of a dramatically cooling climate.

I’ll list the first seven. Go over and read the rest over there.

HERE are the 100 reasons, released in a dossier issued by the European Foundation, why climate change is natural and not man-made:

1) There is “no real scientific proof” that the current warming is caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from man’s activity.

2) Man-made carbon dioxide emissions throughout human history constitute less than 0.00022 percent of the total naturally emitted from the mantle of the earth during geological history.

3) Warmer periods of the Earth’s history came around 800 years before rises in CO2 levels.

4) After World War II, there was a huge surge in recorded CO2 emissions but global temperatures fell for four decades after 1940.

5) Throughout the Earth’s history, temperatures have often been warmer than now and CO2 levels have often been higher – more than ten times as high.

6) Significant changes in climate have continually occurred throughout geologic time.

7) The 0.7C increase in the average global temperature over the last hundred years is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term, natural climate trends.

AGW Sciencytist: You are Stupid. [krakatoa]

Climate Depot’s Mark Morano continues to do amazing work on the Climate Gate scandal.

He has a tremendous grasp of the relevant studies, players & data, and demonstrates his mastery of the topic and of public relations in the following debate (under the fold) he has with Professor Matt Maslin, one of the Climate specialists who has been a primary driver of AGW alarmism in Europe.

This is terrific stuff, and you should check out Morano’s transcript which includes links to all the points he made.

I enjoy reading Lloyd Marcus. He has some really good incite, especially on the issue of race and the race card. This one goes to a topic that really gets my drawers in a bunch; feminism. I hate it. I think it is the worst thing to happen to America, prior to the Democrats taking over two of the three branches of government.

Feminism has ruined boys in America. They’re becoming metro-sexual or outright homos after being indoctrinated by the feminists in the school system. That shit pisses me off to no end. Half the boys in the school system are drugged just for being boys.

When I was a kid, I fought, a lot. When we were caught throwing punches by the teachers, generally we would be separated, and then have our asses parked on a bench for the rest of recess, or lunch. That would usually be the end of it. Today, a boy even looks like he’s gonna throw a punch and he gets suspended, or expelled. No tolerance rears its ugly head here, but that’s a different issue.

Boys can’t let off the steam they need to let off by fighting, or competing the way they were meant to do. Thanks to the bitches of feminism. Yep, that’s right, I called you a bitch. You’re probably butt ugly too.

Radical feminism’s attack on manhood in America
Lloyd Marcus

Over the years, radical feminism has been attempting to demonize any display of testosterone. The slightest aggressive behavior is taken to the ultimate extreme portraying males as abusers. Their goal clearly is to wimpify maleness.

When I was serving on the board of our local YMCA, a national touring team of Christian strong men/bodybuilders wanted to make a presentation to our youths. Through various exciting well-choreographed displays of strength (chopping through cinder blocks with their bare hands and etc.) the ministers taught kids Christian values and principles. Our female chairperson of the board rejected their proposal. She said their display struck her as promoting violence. I thought, “Give me a break”. Since when did any hint of maleness become a bad thing?
