Here’s an open letter sent to Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air.

Open letter to President Obama: Keep government out of health-care decisions
by Ed Morrissey

Earlier today, I received this letter from Hot Air reader and entrepreneur Catherine Wilkinson, whom I then interviewed over the telephone.  Her daughter, Molly Kate Wilkinson, met then-President George Bush in 2004 as part of a “Miracle Child” program highlighting miracles in pediatric health care.  Molly Kate has overcome hydrocephalus and a string of surgeries to now be a straight-A student in a northern Arizona college, on her way to a nursing degree and the hope of working to help other people the way others cared for her.  I’ll have more from our interview at the end of Catherine’s story, which she tells in an open letter to President Barack Obama.

Open Letter to President Obama:

Our daughter has hydrocephalus and this chronic and incurable condition has required 58 surgeries and numerous tests and hospitalizations through out her 22 years.  I can speak to the current controversy over “health care reform” with our long experience with American health care and insurance.

Go read the whole thing.

Either he’s a clueless dolt, or a liar. My guess is that he’s the latter with a much of the former to make it even worse.

Obama Goes Postal, Lands in Dead-Letter Office
Commentary by Caroline Baum

Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) — “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” — Barack Obama, Aug. 11, 2009

…When Obama compared the post office to UPS and FedEx, he was clearly hoping to assuage voter concerns about a public health-care option undercutting and eliminating private insurance.

What he did instead was conjure up visions of long lines and interminable waits. Why do we need or want a health-care system that works like the post office?

More on the ObamaCare nonsense. Please tell me again how this won’t lead to rationing of health care and won’t limit my freedoms? Liar.

ObamaCare Is All About Rationing
Overspending is far preferable to artificially limiting the availability of new procedures and technologies.
By MARTIN FELDSTEIN

Although administration officials are eager to deny it, rationing health care is central to President Barack Obama’s health plan. The Obama strategy is to reduce health costs by rationing the services that we and future generations of patients will receive.

The White House Council of Economic Advisers issued a report in June explaining the Obama administration’s goal of reducing projected health spending by 30% over the next two decades. That reduction would be achieved by eliminating “high cost, low-value treatments,” by “implementing a set of performance measures that all providers would adopt,” and by “directly targeting individual providers . . . (and other) high-end outliers.”

This is an excellent read. I highly recommend it.

The lion that is the American people has roared and continues to roar its warning to the idiots in D.C.

Will they heed the warning, or just stand there as the lion devours them?

My guess is that their too stupid to figure it out.

Finally, Change We Can Believe In
by Tony Blankley

Those of us who are self-appointed advocates — who expend our efforts trying to persuade a few more people to our political point of view — must sit back in slack-jawed wonder when the great American public makes one of its great roars, as we all have been hearing in town hall meetings across the country.

In the animal kingdom, it is the lion that has the loudest roar. Scientists say it is made as a warning to advertise the animal’s presence. Are you listening, Washington? The current American public’s roar certainly is being heard around the world. Consider the following lead from Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper a few days ago:

“It was a scene of breathtaking political theatre. Arlen Specter, the veteran Pennsylvania senator, stood in stony-faced shock as one of his constituents delivered a furious tirade just a few feet away. ‘One day God is going to stand before you, and he’s going to judge you and the rest of your damn cronies,’ bellowed the senator’s grey-bearded adversary in an encounter replayed countless times on American television. ‘Then you will get your just desserts.’ Minutes later, a woman prompted a standing ovation with her emotional outpouring. ‘I don’t believe this is just health care. This is about the systematic dismantling of this country,’ she said, her voice quaking. ‘I don’t want this country turning into Russia, turning into a socialized country. What are you going to do to restore this country back to what our founders created, according to the Constitution?’”
