Salute of a Survivor… Monday, Aug 10 2009

A look at the past. A past where men died and a survivor remembers them. Never forget.

The salute of a survivor
By Kevin Cullen

When he was 19 years old, Dan Galvin joined the Navy because he wanted to see the world. A year later, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and he got to see the world at war.

He was 21, aboard the USS Quincy, when she sailed into the Battle of Guadalcanal.

Sometime after midnight, as August 8th turned into August 9th, the Quincy and two other cruisers, the USS Vincennes and the USS Astoria, were sailing off Savo Island. Galvin was at his battle station in Sky Forward, atop the ship, when he saw something in the darkness.

Obama Lies, America Dies… Monday, Aug 10 2009

Lies, more lies, and more damn lies. That’s pretty much all that I hear from the moron that currently occupies the White House and his entourage of clowns.

Obama Administration: Home of the Whopper

By Bryan Riley

A recent Washington Post op-ed by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius suggests a new motto for the Obama Administration: “Home of the Whopper.”  The Sebelius piece contains no fewer than 10 health care whoppers, including:

Whopper Number 1: Americans are too stupid to buy their own health insurance.

SEBELIUS: Americans are left to worry about whether they’ll get laid off and lose their insurance or wake up from surgery with a $10,000 bill because they didn’t read the fine print on their policy.

Fishy is as Fishy Does… Monday, Aug 10 2009

Keep the reports flowing! I have taken a new tactic in this game the left has decided to play. Every article I read about it will be forwarded to these idiots in the White House.
I also forward my spam email from my Yahoo account. What fun. (I actually started doing this prior to reading this article.)

Something Fishy

By Matt Patterson

The Obama administration has made a terrible mistake.

On Tuesday, August 4, the White House posted a blog entry enjoining Americans to spy on one another, and to report any “disinformation” which might undermine the administration’s health-care reform:

“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

How can an American president think to embrace such open Orwellian thuggishness?  The answer is a noxious combination of (1) liberal moral obtuseness, and (2) the naked lust for power which has characterized the political left since Robespierre. (The political designation sinistra in fact originates with the French Revolution: Jacobins sat to the left of president’s chair in the Third Estate.)

Chutzpah Defined… Monday, Aug 10 2009

The left’s chutzpah is something that only a Marxist can dream of and think that they can pull it off. The latest round of protests from the right and the denigration of said protests by the left is a prime example.

The Chutzpah of the Town Hall Libel
By
Sally Zelikovsky

Democrat bigwigs and their media shills have concocted a libelous narrative of the town hall phenomenon that has shaken up the party’s health care plans. They meet the classic definition of Chutzpah, as explained by Leo Rosten in the Joy of Yiddish:

Gall, brazen nerve, effrontery, incredible “guts”; presumption plus arrogance such as no other word, and no other language, can do justice to.  A Chutzpanik may be defined as the man who shouts, “Help! Help!” while beating you up.

12 Step Recovery for Obamamaniacs… Monday, Aug 10 2009

The twelve steps for Obamamania recovery. It’s just what the doctor ordered.

The Twelve Steps of Obama Anonymous
By
Peggy Shapiro

It’s the morning after an intoxicated stupor for many Obama supporters. Jewish Democrats, who were among his most fervent admirers, are waking up with headaches about the President’s policy and conduct in the Middle East; even media devotees such as Martin Peretz, The New Republic, cannot find excuses for the President’s honoring of a blatant anti-Semite and Israel-basher with the nation’s highest civilian award.

Senior citizens who voted for him are now feeling rather sick about what will happen to their healthcare under the administration’s plan.  Those of us who didn’t drink the Kool Aid are beginning to hear regrets from friends and family who did, and we can help them recover from their Obamamania with a twelve-step program.

It’s Official, Dogs are Smarter than Cats… Monday, Aug 10 2009

It’s official! Cats are stupid. Dogs are smart. I always knew dogs were smarter than cats, now there is a study that proves it. OK. So it doesn’t compare cats and dogs. I stick to my gut feeling on this.

Dogs as Smart as 2-year-old Kids
Jeanna Bryner

The canine IQ test results are in: Even the average dog has the mental abilities of a 2-year-old child.

The finding is based on a language development test, revealing average dogs can learn 165 words (similar to a 2-year-old child), including signals and gestures, and dogs in the top 20 percent in intelligence can learn 250 words.

And the smartest?

Border collies, poodles, and German shepherds, in that order, says Stanley Coren, a canine expert and professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia. Those breeds have been created recently compared with other dog breeds and may be smarter in part because we’ve trained and bred them to be so, Coren said. The dogs at the top of the pack are on par with a 2.5-year-old.

The Money… Monday, Aug 10 2009

Pay attention people. The only way to keep America prosperous and a free nation is to make the tax system fair. Everyone should have to pay taxes. If everyone paid taxes, there would be no chance for socialism. When everyone has a stake in the deal, the idiots in Congress wouldn’t be able to get away with it.

Not About the Money
By Alana Goodman

Opponents of free-market economics have often portrayed capitalists as greedy money-grubbers, but one conservative think tank is arguing that free enterprise is the foundation of a virtuous and moral society.

“Taxation is about fairness and freedom, it’s not about money,” said American Enterprise Institute (AEI) President Arthur Brooks at the Heritage Foundation on August 4th. “You can raise my taxes another five points. I’m not going to like it, but my kids are not going to go without shoes. What’s going to offend me is it’s going to make me less free and it’s not fair and it’s not American…And that’s a moral case. “

An April 9th poll by Rasmussen Reports showed that Americans under age 30 were pretty much evenly divided on the question of whether they preferred capitalism or socialism, with 37% choosing capitalism and 33% choosing socialism.
