Amputee Soldier does Triathlon… Tuesday, Jul 28 2009

Here’s a story that needs to be told. This man is a true inspiration.

From soldier to triathlon rene-Gade
Loss of limb from bombing doesn’t stop captain from competing in N.Y. City triathlon|
By JENNIFER IANNONE

Daniel Gade nestled himself into the seat of his racing wheelchair, positioned his hands on the two large tires at his side and relied on his upper-body strength to propel the contraption forward.

He bowed his head to gain more speed as the three-wheeled chair glided down the pavement during a training session at Sandy Creek Park this past week.

The 34-year-old makes it look effortless, though he admits that this has become his latest challenge.

Gade gladly accepts each new hurdle that comes his way, facing his obstacles head-on while recognizing how far he has come in the last 41/2 years.

Did You Hear? Tuesday, Jul 28 2009

Yep. Not a peep from the idiots in the MSM. Bias? There’s no stinkin’ bias! Omission is just as bad as lying.

From the “Armed Citizen” Category

See, if you only read the New York Times, LA Times, et al, you’d never read stories like this:

The kidnappers stripped Cockrell of his clothes and bound his hands and feet with apron strings. He says being tied up is the most helpless feeling in the world. But Spencer’s helplessness turned to empowerment. Cockrell wiggled free and negotiated with the robbers giving them the keys to the store and the codes to the company safe. The robbers discussed the couple’s fate and decided to kill them.

Teh One has been Figured Out… Monday, Jul 27 2009

Ben Stein has him figured out. So do I.

We’ve Figured Him Out
By Ben Stein

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

Armistice Day Korea… Monday, Jul 27 2009

Lest we forget. They deserve recognition for their sacrifices to this nation and the Republic of Korea. It’s an armistice, not a peace treaty. We still have Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and the occasional Marine in Korea. I spent 3 years, 3 months and 20 days in the Land of the Morning Calm.
To those that fought there in its harsh environment and terrain, I say thank you.

As does the President:

NATIONAL KOREAN WAR VETERANS ARMISTICE DAY, 2009
- – - – - – -
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

Fifty-six years after the signing of the Military Armistice Agreement at Panmunjom, Americans remain grateful for the courage and sacrifice of our Korean War veterans. More than 600,000 United States and allied combatants lost their lives in Korea during the 3 years of bitter warfare that ended on July 27, 1953. Many were also injured, taken as prisoners of war, and missing in action. These dedicated servicemen and women, under the banner of the United Nations, fought to secure the blessings of freedom and democracy on the Korean Peninsula, and they deserve our unending respect and gratitude.

Every day we are reminded of the selfless service of these veterans. The Korean War Veterans Memorial stands in our Nation’s Capital as an enduring tribute to them. Marching among juniper bushes and rows of granite, Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen
silently remind all who glimpse their faces of the great challenges that so many Americans overcame. The strong partnership between the United States and the Republic of Korea is also a proud testament to our men and women in uniform.

Today we remember and honor the valor of Korean War veterans and the extraordinary sacrifices that they and their families made in the cause of peace.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim July 27, 2009, as National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day. I call upon all Americans to
observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities that honor and give thanks to our distinguished Korean War veterans. I also ask Federal departments and agencies and interested groups, organizations, and individuals to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff on July 27, 2009, in memory of the Americans who died as a result of their service in Korea.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-fourth day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth.

More on the Racist-in-Chief:

The Truth About Cops and Race
By
Michael Filozof

Last week, Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, a black man, was arrested by a white police officer for disorderly conduct. Gates accused the officer of racism. President Obama created a national media firestorm by commenting on the arrest, saying the cops “acted stupidly” and that the U.S. has a “long history” of “African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”

It’s that old liberal stereotype once again – bigoted white cops picking on poor, innocent blacks, just like Selma, Ala. in 1963. Really? Perhaps Mr. Obama, who lives in a bubble, ought to get out into the real world and get his facts straight.

As Racists Go, We are Rank Amateurs
By
C. Edmund Wright

Mr. President, history and reality teach us that as racists go, we are, frankly, rank amateurs.  And I am sick and tired of Ivy League elites like you and Professor Gates pretending otherwise.

What? You think I’m crazy?

Look at it this way.  If we were worth a damn as racist whites, would we fall all over ourselves everyday to voluntarily watch, cheer for, emulate, take advice from and enrich folks named Tiger and Oprah?

Those are, after all, the two people that white racist America has anointed as the top cultural icons in our society.  Ever heard about “the Oprah effect” or the ad campaign “I am Tiger Woods?”  Let me translate for you: white Americans absolutely love these two black folks above any other athlete, actor, singer or even American Idol contestant on the planet — and big business in search of evil profits — knows it.

Impersonating a Victim
By
W. R. Wansley

This past March 29th, Professor Henry Louis Gates was being interviewed in front of a small group by Walter Isaacson on C-SPAN’s Book TV.  Thirty-three minutes into the discussion about his new book on Lincoln, Professor Gates began a detailed account of his own genealogy.  He said that in doing so he had discovered he was about “50% white”.  He said that this was quote, “To my astonishment and horror…”.

He continued by saying that he had subsequently sent his DNA off to be tested.  This time, upon finding out he was “57% white”, he said again, “to my horror …. I was becoming more white by the minute”.  To this Gates, Isaacson and everyone else there chuckled.

Obama = Racist-in-Chief… Friday, Jul 24 2009

Obama is a racist pig. I already figured that out before the jug eared freak was elected. It didn’t involve rocket science either.
His latest BS proves it.

Executive Exclusion of Empathy
By
Jeannie DeAngelis

Claiming that empathy is high on the list of qualities that are necessary in public officials, Barack Obama desires his administration and appointees to epitomize understanding, awareness, and sensitivity, and to be able to vicariously experience the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of other people. Yet, Obama is the one that lacks the empathy he demands from everyone else. The President, who supposedly transcends race, is revealing himself a proprietor of racial politics and race related discrimination.

If Obama Were My Friend
By
Miguel A. Guanipa

I am a Latino, as you may be able to tell from my name. You know; one who is constantly being harassed by the police and frequently getting stopped for dubious traffic violations because of his race. Generally I am also treated as a substandard human being by conservative politicians. At least that’s what Obama appears to want everyone like me — and darker than me — to believe.

If you are surprised to hear that I am not a friend of Obama, one could argue that your consternation betrays a strand of racial profiling in your thinking. Be that as it may, I can not be a friend of a man who has been so thoroughly brainwashed by the liberal elite about how everything is supposed to be about race.

Dear Mr. President
By
Heather Agins

Dear Mr. President,

As I was driving home from taking my three year old son to school this morning I overheard a conversation on the radio about a Harvard professor being arrested for breaking into his own home.  There was a slight debate as to whether or not this was a form of racial profiling because Professor Gates happened to be a black man.  In disgust I turned the volume down but a few moments later something made me turn it back up.  That something was your voice and a particular description of the police force that I found to be quite shocking!  I thought for a moment that perhaps I had heard wrong but lucky for me several radio stations were replaying your comments on the incident and so it was confirmed.  You stated “the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody” and went on to mention “the long history within this country of African American and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement officers disproportionately….”

Obama is the one who ‘acted stupidly’
By
Bob Weir

From the moment a police officer dons that uniform, he/she becomes a symbol of authority, and it becomes obvious very quickly that most people in a free country resent authority. It could be the guy who gets pulled over for speeding or passing a red light; it could be the guy who’s clobbering his wife during a family dispute, or it could be a guy who breaking into a residence that turns out to be his.

Although these are situations in which the police must take action, their authority will usually be resented. It’s the type of job in which you are damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. When a neighbor called police to the Cambridge, Massachusetts neighborhood next to Harvard University, she said there were two men breaking into a home. Sergeant Jim Crowley, a sixteen year veteran of police work, took the call and arrived at the scene to discover that the door had been jimmied and two men were inside.

Enough Already! Stop Crying ‘Racism’
Posted by Bobby Eberle

There are a few issues that rise above the rest for me. One of those is race relations, and how those on the left view “equality.” We are all supposed to get along and treat each other fairly, right? Yet, the liberals attempt to do this by treating people unfairly. With racial preferences, different racial and ethnic groups are given favor over others. This is fair? This is equality? I’m sick of it.

Then… when something doesn’t go right, these same people claim it’s “racism.” In the case of test scores, it’s never because someone actually performed better than the person complaining. With a promotion, it’s never because someone was better qualified than the person complaining. And with crime, if someone was falsely accused or there was a misunderstanding, it’s never an honest mistake. It’s racism. Give me a break!

Oh hell. Here’s another:

Racist-in-Chief

A woman sees a man she thinks is attempting to break into a neighbor’s home, and calls the police.

An officer arrives, and finds a man in the foyer of the home, and begins to question him. The man acts belligerently, and initially refuses to provide identification, while screaming the cop was prejudiced. The man inside the home was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct, even though he later provided identification showing he he was and proving that it was his home.

People get arrested all the time for acting like an ass and refusing to work with police responding to a call, and the officer could have just as easily charged the suspect with obstruction of justice and he would have been well justified.

Obamacare Bullshit is Piling up… Thursday, Jul 23 2009

Pay attention people, your lives depend on it.

What IS Obamacare?

The current House Democrat Proposal has three main elements to it:

1)An “Employer Mandate”: The government will force all employers to pay for health benefits for workers. If they don’t, they’ll be hit with higher taxes. Businesses will struggle under rising costs, leading to less people being hired – the worst possible thing during this economic downturn.

If It’s So Great… Wednesday, Jul 22 2009

If this health care BS is so great, then Congress should be required to be on it, along with all the assholes in the government.

If this health care shit is so great, you first assholes.

Video: Nadler won’t use ObamaCare if it passes

Neil Cavuto hits Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) with the question that every host should ask Congressional supporters of ObamaCare, and Nadler fumbles it. Members of Congress get one of those “gold plated” health insurance plans that many in Congress want to tax to fund health-care reform. Cavuto wonders whether Nadler — who once claimed that Congress would provide that level of coverage to all Americans through ObamaCare — would trade his existing coverage for what Nadler proposes to impose on the rest of us. Nadler tries ducking but winds up with egg on his face:
