Stimulating Nothing… Monday, May 11 2009

The stimulus, just isn’t stimulating, nor will it. Instead, America is saddled with unbelievable debt and the future of America’s strength in the world is in doubt:

Taxing Away American Jobs
by Hans Bader
May 11, 2009 @ 11:17 am

Obama’s plan to raise taxes on the foreign operations of U.S. businesses may destroy management and professional jobs in the U.S., will put American business at a competitive disadvantage versus its foreign competitors, and may result in profitable overseas operations of U.S. companies being sold to their foreign competitors. So concludes the Washington Post’s Robert Samuelson in his column today. It’s yet another example of Obama sacrificing substance for grandstanding. As Samuelson notes, U.S. corporate taxes are already among the highest in the world.

Media Bias? What Media Bias? Monday, May 11 2009

Media bias? There’s no media bias! It’s all in your imagination! Imagine this…

Obama to Media: ‘Most of You Covered Me; All of You Voted for Me’
By Bobby Eberle

We start our week with yet another double standard on display in the media. This time the setting is the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, DC. This event is the “who’s who” of the Washington elite: journalists, politicians, liberal entertainers. The list goes on and on.

Normally, comedians take this opportunity to poke fun at the current administration. Members of the current administration usually poke fun at themselves. But these aren’t “normal” times. This is the era of “hope and change,” remember? Except now, what’s changed is any level of decency or class being displayed by socialist elite. Just look at the comments made during the dinner and ask yourself how the coverage would be if a conservative had said it…

A Letter from a Recovering Liberal… Monday, May 11 2009

Another letter from a former liberal. Too bad there aren’t more of them. She’s at about the right age for switching too. If you’re a liberal over 30, you have mental issues.

Letter of Amends from a Recovering Liberal in Berkeley
By
Robin

Dear friends, family, loved ones, conservatives, Republicans, libertarians, my brother in law, Sam, and my cousin Joe: I am sorry and you were right.

These are not easy words for anyone to utter, much less a leftist from Berkeley, or a recovering leftist, that is. Even though I’ve been in recovery for 14 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days, leftists are always right in your face, in an I-hate-you-if-you-disagree sort of way. Hence, this letter of amends to all the people I’ve lectured, scolded, ranted and raved at, and otherwise annoyed during my 30 plus years of “progressive” politics.

Inept Administration… Monday, May 11 2009

This administration is inept at best. And I thought Carter was bad. Down right pathetic. Get us out of Af/Pak now, or STFU and stand by the troops you inept morons. Clinton is and always has been anti-military. No doubt it plays well with the terrorists.

THE CASUALTY CON
BAM FALLING FOR TALIBAN TRICKS
By Ralph Peters

THE most effective weapon terrorists have found to wield against us isn’t the headline-grabbing suicide bomber or even the deadly roadside bomb, the IED.
Such weapons can harm us, but they can’t stop us. Terror’s super-weapon is the lie.
Lying about civilian casualties is the one sure way to impede or even halt US (or Israeli) operations, to force such tight restrictions on our troops that they can’t win.
The casualty con’s so effective as both propaganda and tactic that terrorists everywhere have adopted the technique. It’s been so successful that our enemies long ago transitioned to the next phase: creating civilian casualties and blaming us.
It works. The media love the charge. Our troops and pilots are always guilty — even if proven innocent. Because so many on the left want us to be guilty.
Few journalists bother to investigate. If the Taliban, al Qaeda, Hezbollah or Hamas says it, it must be so. In Media Wonderland, terrorists never lie. Now every successful strike on a Taliban target generates the instant claim that the dead were all civilians.

Government Motors, et al… Thursday, May 7 2009

I have been a GM guy for some time now. I have owned a GMC Yukon XL, a GMC Sierra 2500 HD and a Pontiac Grand Prix over the last 12, or so years.

I considered myself a GM kind of guy. That is until the bailout. Ford did the right thing and said no thanks. We’ll deal with this ourselves. GM and Chrysler decided to try and take the easy way out, hopping on the backs of the tax payer and losing all semblance of a private company in the government’s takeover of the two. Forcing Chrysler to cut a deal with Fiat, firing the CEO of GM and replacing their Board of Directors is not a way to run a business. They should have just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy from the start, restructured and moved on. They’ll still end up doing that, but have cost the taxpayers billions.

Now that Obama is the CEO of GM, I say kiss my white ass. I won’t buy a GM anymore. Ford just won my business. I think that many Americans may do the same thing. Screw you GM. Why should I pay you more of my hard earned money? You already robbed me once.

Shocker: Ford beats Government Motors in Q1

“Beats” being a relative term of the amount of red ink, of course.  Oddly, the New York Times and the AP neglected to mention this rather notable occurance, but BizzyBlog did the work that American journalists apparently won’t — research.  For the first time in 80 years, Ford outsold GM, bringing in a topline number of $24.8 billion in sales, against the bailed-out automaker’s $22.4 billion.  Both companies had severe reductions in global sales over 2008’s Q1 figures, with Ford losing almost $15 billion in revenue — and GM over $20 billion.

Colin Powel Moron Extraordinaire… Thursday, May 7 2009

Me thinks that Colin Powel should just STFU. He isn’t a Conservative. Never really was. His support of Hope McSlapnuts Obama was proof positive of this fact. Either that, or he was just a typical racist asshole voting for a black man.

Telling the GOP that they need to come more to the center and not saying the same to the left is a rather obvious outcry of his stupidity.

Hey dumbass! STFU and change your party affiliation already. The more of you idiot RINOs that switch over to the Democrats, the better.

I have lost all respect for this turncoat. Enjoy your liberal love fest moron.

Would Colin Powell Please Just Go Away?

Just when you think retired Gen. Colin Powell has really “retired” from the public scene, he reemerges long enough to grab a bit of the lime light, before returning to the depths of obscurity. Usually, when he does pop out to make a comment the media is all too willing to hear it because it likely means he will be bashing Republicans.

His latest rant is right in line with his standard M.O. In a recent speech, Powell took swipes at Rush Limbaugh, Gov. Sarah Palin, and made his usual claims that the Republican Party has moved too far to the right. Give Powell credit, when he sees an opportunity to be opportunistic, he seizes it. The problem is that he is completely off track and would be much better suited joining Arlen Specter and the Democrats.

The Government, the States, and You… Thursday, May 7 2009

Government aid to the states. Money collected in the very states that need it feed the government trough; just to be sent back to the states as aid. I’m from the gubmint and I’m here to help…

Doesn’t make any damn sense.

More Misleading Monetary MSM Memes

This morning, this headline appeared on the front page of USA Today, “Federal aid is top revenue for states”.

I wonder how many of my fellow citizens read that and absently nodded approval while sipping their coffee or crossed their fingers hopefully while scanning the “Help Wanted” ads?

The problems with the headline and with the flavor of the article itself are legion.

Iran, Nukes, Israel, USA, and others… Thursday, May 7 2009

Iran’s nukes are an issue that will be dealt with sooner, or later. The problem with later, is that they may have a developed weapon that they can fire back at whomever happens to strike at them.
I think Israel won’t wait too much longer to knock Iran’s dick in the dirt over the nuke issue.

They did it with Iraq in 1981. They’ll do it with these idiots if they push it much further. Slow them down and develop an anti-missile system that can defend against attack. Too bad Obama thinks that missile defense is a bad idea; simpleton. You have more leverage against rogue nations if you can defend against their nuclear ambitions, and they can’t defend against yours.

Why attacking Iran may be morally and militarily necessary
By
James Lewis

The decision to go to war is always a profound moral question, for any sane and civilized country. It is also a military and political question, and in the case of Iran, situated as it is at the head of the Persian-Arab Gulf, a major economic question. All the ducks have to be in a row for the decision to be made.

SecDef Gates argued in public testimony last week that knocking out Iran’s nuclear installations would make little sense, because it would only slow down the mullahs’ rush to nukes, and not bring them to a screeching halt. But in a crisis like this one, no public statement can be believed; disinformation is at least as common as truth-telling. Some people have argued that Gates took the military option off the table, thereby Jimmy-Carterizing Obama good and proper. In this view, Obama is committing public self-castration for the cause of peace.

Navy Cross Awarded… Wednesday, May 6 2009

Outstanding. That’s all that really needs to be said. This young Marine certainly deserves the award. Read it all:

Battle-injured Afghanistan Veteran Receives Navy Cross

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA – (04/02/09)

“Sorry, guys, I can’t keep going.”

Those were the words of Lance Cpl. Brady A. Gustafson to the Marines in his vehicle as he was pulled away from his smoking machine gun minutes after his platoon was ambushed July 21, 2008, by withering enemy fire in Shewan, Afghanistan.

Nobody blamed Gustafson, 21, an infantryman with 2nd Platoon, Company G, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, for not being able to continue the fight, since the opening volley on the Marine mounted patrol included a rocket-propelled grenade that pierced the shell of the mine-resistant armor-protected vehicle in which Gustafson was manning the turret gun.

That RPG severed Gustafson’s right leg, and yet he had the presence of mind to locate the enemy positions and place well-aimed machine gun fire on them, providing cover fire for the Marines in his platoon.

Good Shootin’ Wednesday, May 6 2009

In the news? Not bloody likely. Doesn’t fit the anti-gun narrative of the left. It fits the bill for another reason to carry though. This young man that intervened possibly saved quite a few lives and definitely stopped a douche-bag from raping some women. Good job.

College Student Shoots, Kills Home Invader

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A group of college students said they are lucky to be alive and they’re thanking the quick-thinking of one of their own. Police said a fellow student shot and killed one of two masked me who burst into an apartment.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones met with one of the students to talk about the incident.

“Apparently, his intent was to rape and murder us all,” said student Charles Bailey.
