Uneasy Feeling Friday, Jan 23 2009

Great article from Victor Davis Hansen. He tells it like nobody else can.

An Uneasy Feeling

Yesterday..
All Americans must appreciate the outpouring of good will, unity, and hope for a successful Obama administration. But I had a certain feeling of uncertainty yesterday at the coverage of the festivities.

Let me preface that worry: I did not think much of Bill Clinton our modern-day Alcibiades. But all through his administration, and of course before and after it, I thought a great deal of the United States, especially in comparison to the alternative.

Before Clinton bombed Milosevic in 1998 I believed that it would have been wiser to have gone to Congress and gotten an authorization to use force (as in the case of Bush in 2002). He might have also at least tried to convince the UN (as Bush attempted in fall 2002). But no matter: he began bombing he said to stop genocide, and I wrote an op-ed at the time for the Wall Street Journal calling for unity to ensure an American victory over Milosevic.

Whether Obama is President or McCain had won, no matter; it is still the US, and as a Jacksonian I pretty much pull for America—all the time. I am not a Socratic citizen of the world—given the thugs that rule most of Africa, the creepy places such as Iran or Russia or North Korea, the land of the Lotus-eaters in Europe, or the tribal dictatorships I’ve seen in the Middle East

Down to 98. Friday, Jan 23 2009

Valor should always be recognized. Those that earned the Medal of Honor should be recognized again when they pass. They did their duty, above and beyond the call. Now our society is less one great individual.

Down to 98

On April 7, 1943, 22 year old Marine Lieutenant James Swett took off as a rookie division leader of four F4F Wildcats of VMF-221 on his maiden combat mission over the Solomon Islands.

His small band was part of a group of Marine and Navy aviators who were intercepting a wave of 150 Japanese aircraft.

A few minutes after takeoff Lt. Swett and his four aircraft command ran into 15 Japanese bombers.  Swett ignored the odds and ordered an immediate attack from above.  Personally leading the tight formation of Wildcats, Swett opened the engagement.

Less than 20 minutes later, Swett had scored seven confirmed kills!

Yo! B-HO! Your Stupidity is Showing Friday, Jan 23 2009

Yeah. Free them terrorists B-HO. Can’t wait to see how this comes around to bite you in the ass. I just hope I’m not in the city that gets nailed by your stupidity.

What a douche-nozzle.

Set my jihadis free

President O will almost certainly regret his caving to the howls of the left to set all the poor innocents in Gitmo free and to shut down that house of horrors.

BEIRUT, Lebanon — The emergence of a former Guantánamo Bay detainee as the deputy leader of Al Qaeda’s Yemeni branch has underscored the potential complications in carrying out the executive order President Obama signed Thursday that the detention center be shut down within a year.

The militant, Said Ali al-Shihri, is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the United States Embassy in Yemen’s capital, Sana, in September. He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with Al Qaeda in Yemen.

His status was announced in an Internet statement by the militant group and was confirmed by an American counterterrorism official.

You Won’t Get My Guns Friday, Jan 23 2009

The anti-gun douche bag Crap-head in Chief has shown his stripes rather quickly. You assholes that voted for him thinking he would leave your guns alone are morons. It is rather surprising that he jumped on this so quickly, but then again, it might be a smart move. While he still has that aura of untouchable that the media gave him, he can fuck over the average Joe and maybe even get away with it.

I for one will not sit by idly, while he does this bullshit. I will highlight every fucking thing that he does that is fascist or socialist in nature that impedes my freedoms.

You won’t get my guns without a fight. I guarantee it.

How Do You Like It So Far?

So, for all the bullshit that Obama’s supporters and press lackeys spread about how he supported the 2nd Amendment, and for all the regular folks who believed it, here’s what’s coming:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

More on “Ammo Accountability” Act

Writing in the New American, Alan Scholl gives reasons to oppose it:

People would be required to forfeit all personally-owned non-encoded ammunition. After a certain date, it would be illegal to possess non-encoded ammunition. Gun owners possess hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition for target shooting, hunting and personal protection. Consider that American manufacturers produce 8 billion rounds each year.

Reloading (re-using cartridge cases multiple times) would be abolished. There would be no way to correspond serial numbers on cartridge cases, and different sets and quantities of bullets.

People would be required to separately register every box of “encoded ammunition.” This information would be supplied to the police. Most states do not even require registration of guns. Each box of ammunition would have a unique serial number, thus a separate registration.

Private citizens would have to maintain records, if they sold ammunition to anyone, including family members or friends.
