“Every time I let the government make a choice for me, I give up a little more of my freedom. I become more dependent and reliant on government to manage my life. I am right where the Socialists want me to be – perpetually dependent on them.”

It's not enough to just count the cost of war you see on the books. You also have to count the future cost when a war is lost.

We lost over 3000 people in one day because we emboldened our enemy. We gave them reason to think they could get away with it. That's the cost you are not counting.

My thought was once we went to war, we should have pulled out after initially defeating their army. It turns our I was a heartless bastard, thinking about the cost just like you do. We would have left them with a mess where many good people would have died that shouldn't. Instead we stayed and overwhelmingly it's the bad guys that have been sent to their reward. I think it's a good thing that better people than I are in charge. When we leave victorious there is a chance they will do the right thing and we will have an ally in a future that is not yet done with us.

Well, if you like bright lights . . .

Actually I like all four presidential contenders.

McCain is a maverick.
Palin is inexperienced, but a quick study, and nobody's fool.

Obama is dedicated to helping Americans on the home front.
Biden has a long history of experience with foreign affairs.

What it comes down to for me is:
WHICH CANDIDATES PROMISE TO END THE HUNDREDS
OF BILLIONS OF OF DOLLARS BEING POURED DOWN
THE DRAIN in Iraq, and which want to continue the war effort,
no end, no horizon in sight.

For that crucial issue, the Obama team wins hands down.
My humble opinion.
Sorry, Sarah!
